Evaluation 10:

How do you determine whether a news source is reputable? Or a news story is reliable?

In determining whether a news article/source is reliable or not, firstly, you need to

depend on your knowledge. Some fabricated or misleading news is easily distinguishable by its

incoherence to a fact that we already know, an example of factual basis is scientific knowledge

which is hard to disprove. If the news you are scanning through is not aligned with a scientific

basis, then it can easily be said that it is fake news. Also, one can be an unreliable source if it is

biased so it is essential to check on the background of the site you are browsing into. Next you

need to check whether the website or actual news channel is trustworthy or is even a real

channel. Some news articles come with links that are not official. We can also check on the

internet if the website is trusted and with copyrights which can prove if the site is qualified

publish that news. For the author, you need to check if he has the credentials to write such

news. Lastly, we can double check a news article if we compare different news sources. By

doing this we can know if the news is true with the fact that many trusted sites and companies

are publishing the news.
