1.

What is the main distinction between primary source and secondary

source?
We can differentiate between primary sources and secondary
sources in the value and reliability of the contents. As we all know, primary
sources refer to information that gives direct and first-hand evidence about a
particular topic. It contains raw information. In contrast to the secondary
source, which is written after something, means it is not the original; it is
already interpreted by someone. And it commonly interprets the primary
sources and publishes them into their versions. As we look at it, primary is
most reliable because it is unfiltered, unlike secondary.

2. Why is primary source important in the study of history?

According to LibGuides, the primary source is the closest to the

origin of the information; that is why it helps us to truly know about the
history. Through this, historians and us can be able to connect the details and
pieces of evidence that point out certain information. Since it is credible
evidence, it can prove and justify the claims of history. In this way, we can
check its accuracy level, to see if that particular event really happened or not.

3. What is the purpose of a secondary source?

A secondary source interprets and explains primary information for

us to understand it more. It simply supports the primary source by giving its
perspectives, insights, and opinions. In this way, we can be able to picture out
what exactly happens in that particular event.
4. At present, how do you discriminate between contradicting reports
of a single event from different sources?

The first thing you must do is to check its accuracy repeatedly. For
you to be assured that the information is accurate. Verify it with other
sources. Then consider the author's credibility. If it is known to contain fake
news, then don't use it. It is also important to know if it is current or timely.
Because it won't be relevant anymore if the information isn't updated to the
modern situation.

5. Why should official records of the government be made accessible

to the public?

It is for transparency and a wise technique to fight corruption. And

also for us to be aware, knowledgeable, and actively participate in what is
happening in our government. Besides, it is written in the constitution that it
is our "right to know" as Filipino citizens.
