ACTIVITY 1: THE WH

1. The more information and experiences we have, the more options we have to solve
our problems. The quality of our lives depends on questions we ask. Which are also our
lives is directly related to the quality of our thinking. If you want to change your life,
change what you think.

2. We get information and facts about everything aside from getting information we
learned. Answering questioning is essential because it makes you wiser. When you
become more open because of a flexible answer, you become perceptive of many
different perspectives and less biased in your decisions.

ACTIVITY 2: Picture Analysis

1. Social media. Almost everything we need is essential when surfing on the net.

2. I acquire and store those information by getting more evidences or by asking some
people about the information I got.

3. I acquire so many information but I’m not sure if some is true or not. Due to the
biggest number of fake new, I become more literate on reading different articles. I
search more information to become more accurate the information is.

4. Sharing information to my friends, I’ll share information which is factual in able for us
to both learn. In that way, my friends also share the information to their friends.

ACTIVITY 3: What’s the process?

Recognizing the difference between good information and bad information and evaluate
situations from several perspectives helps people do well in school, work, and personal
matters. Information literate is fundamental for learning in school. It has an impact on an
individual's ability to participate in society and to understand important public issues.
And it provides the foundation upon which skills needed. Technology, and the science
behind it, permeates all aspects of our lives.

ACTIVITY 4.1: What’s the process?

1. It is important to know which information is fake and factual, if we believe to an article


which is fake it will spread then the information lead to them will make any difference on
something.

2. You need to do is to have a conclusion on everything, do a research to have better


learning. Once you identify if a story is real or fake, you can make a big difference. Do
not share stories on social media that are fake and make them more visiblr. If you come
across a fake news article, comment on it stating how you arrived at the conclusion it
was fake. If everyone does their part to distinguish fake news stories and make them
known, then they won’t be shared as easily.

ACTIVITY 4.2: Surf Saga

1. It is important to give credit to the original author once we use their ideas or content
into something by citing sources is the only way to use other people’s work because it
helps you avoid plagiarism..

2. Plagiarism is a process that someone is using someone else’s words or ideas without
properly crediting the original author. Sometimes plagiarism involves deliberately
stealing someone’s work, but often it happens accidentally or through carelessness

1. What is information?

Information definition is a knowledge obtained from investigation, study, or instruction.


Information also relates to knowledge, as knowledge signifies understanding of an
abstract or concrete concept.

2. When can we considered an individual as information literate?

We considered an individual as information literate when someone using technical skills


for accessing suitable media and information sources. When using media and
information as content decoding skills and responsible strategies for applying content to
one’s daily life. The knowledge has no use to you until you find ways to put it into
practice.

3. What are the types of Information?

The types of information that we need to apply are Plagiarism, Common Knowledge,
interpretation, Quotation and paraphrase.

4. Why do we need to be critical in choosing information?

We need to be critical in choosing information because if we have the ability to use


information technologies effectively to find and manage information, and the ability to
critically evaluate are some of the hallmarks of an information literate individual.

5. How can we avoid plagiarism?

We can avoid plagiarism by citing your source, by including quotations on your article,

Paraphrasing or rewriting a source’s ideas or information into your own words, without
changing its meaning. And most important present your own idea instead of parroting
the source’s ideas or words, explore what you have to say about it.

ACTIVITY 6: Disaster Scenario

Information needs: What information do you need?

I need to find information that can prove that there is a typhoon.


Sources of information: Where will you get them?

I will look for a weather forecaster or news that can tell that there is a typhoon coming

Access to the information: How will you access them?

Through the internet, I'll surf in the internet in order to find updated news that stating
that there is a typhoon coming.

Evaluate information: How will you check the quality of information?

Through their links, with that we can say that the information we have gathered is legit,
that is, if we are a media literate.

Organize information: How will you organize and store them?

I'll combine the almost identical news that says that there's a typhoon coming and put
aside the other news that says no typhoon is coming, but i'll read it also.

Communicate information: How will you create and communicate them

When I find out that there is really a typhoon coming, I'll immediately spread information
to warn everyone. I've gathered enough information to prove that it's true. So that others
can also prepare.
