a. Evaluate the tone of the message
b. Check the source of the message
c. Assess the content of the message
d. Consider the time the message arrived
For me, I will recognize if a text message is reliable by assessing the content of the
message first. I must make sure or confirm that the information that I already know is
also the same with the information that is on the message. Next will be the checking of
the source of the message. We must also verify if the source of the information is
trustworthy because there are some sources that are giving on false information that could
lead to the misinterpretation of the readers. By these first two steps, the other steps will
do follow in order to know that the text message is reliable.
4. Your teacher asked you to research on the history of your place- Mangagoy, Bislig City,
what will be your sources of media and information? Rank your answers according to the
level of importance. Write the most important source first. Explain each.
I. Publication from City’s Library
II. Internet
III. Local Television Network
IV. Local Newspaper
For me, the important source that I would look to is the Publication from City’s Library
because I do believe that history books, journals, or other books that are related with the
history of our place is found and placed here. So I think, this would be the first important
source. I also decided that internet would be the second important source because we all
know that almost all of the facts about everything are on the internet, so if I would found
some first hand facts about our place in the city’s library maybe I could found some
supporting facts on the internet. Third will be the local television network because not all
in the internet are being reported in the television so I think I might probably get some
information about our place in this kind of source. I chose that local newspaper would be
the last because there are some daily facts that would be found on the local newspaper so
it would also help me to get some information or history about my place.
5. Research on the MTRCB Movie and Television classification ratings. Each classification
in your own words.
G is for all viewers of all ages that are permitted to watch the show. It means that the
show or movie is appropriate for all audiences who are willing to watch the show. PG is
allowed for below 13 years old but they must be accompanied by a parent or an adult to
look over if they want to watch the show. It needs a parent supervising because the show
may contain things that are not yet appropriate for their age. Lastly is the SPG, it means
that the show needs a strong parental guidance. The show that is classified as SPG has a
content that is more serious topic and message and is not advisable for children to watch
such show.

idea that she needed. So, for me, information literacy is manifested by Maris because she
is looking for information that could help her gather all the information. By looking for
some information that she could found, she could probably share her gathered
information correctly to the other people.

Fake news and sophisticated information are already rampant these days especially on
social media. To avoid these false information, we must be careful in evaluating
messages online. First, we must check the source of the message if it is reliable because
there are many sources that are spreading some fake news. Next is, if we still don’t trust
the first source of that certain content, you must need to find other sources to check again
if they are reliable of if they even exist. Lastly, we need to verify the facts of the content
in order to make sure that the information is correct and to have no problems after we
released the information to the public.
8. How is plagiarism different from copyright infringement? Explain.
Plagiarism is different from copyright infringement because plagiarism is about using
someone else’s work or ideas without giving some credit to the owner. It is about
presenting someone else’s idea as your own, and that is not legally possible. One the
other hand, copyright infringement is having unauthorized or unlicensed copying of a
work of subject to copyright. Just like the use of some music in your own videos, it is
