VISA REQUIREMENTS
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION AND INFORMATION

A visa only enables the holder to proceed to a Port of Entry before the expiry date of the visa. No fixed travel
arrangements must be made prior to the issuing of the visa.

WHEN SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION AT THE COUNTER

1. FULLY COMPLETED visa application form (obtainable from the South
African Embassy).
2. A passport valid for no less than 30 days after the intended visit and containing
as least two blank pages for the issuance of the South African visa.
3. A non refundable processing visa fee of US$37.00 for countries subject to
payment;
4. Two passport sized photographs;
5. Clear copy of residence / work permits (expatriates);
6. A yellow fever vaccination certificate, if required by the Act;
7. Documentary evidence of accommodation in South Africa, eg. Hotel
reservations.
8. Invitation letter for visitor purpose and utility bill, from friend/relative with
contactable details, certified copy of friend/relative ID, with undertaking to pay
SA Govt all expenses incurred/arising out the repatriation of the person invited.
9. A letter of invitation from the relevant business / company with company stamp
when intend visiting South Africa for business.
10. Business letter from the Zimbabwean Company (for business) with company
stamp.
11. Certificate of Incorporation for Business persons.
12. Proof of financial means in the form of:-
 Credit cards with bank statements or Travellers Cheques (money orders) not
older than three months (R3000) to cover envisaged living expenses during the
stay in Republic);-
 Bank statements with bank stamp for a period of three months with a minimum
available balance equivalent to R3000.00 and above, per person.
13. In respect of minor depended children accompanying the applicant to or joining
the applicant in the Republic applications must be accompanied by the
following:
 In the case of a minor subject to guardianship or custody, proof of such
guardianship or custody; or
 In the case of an unaccompanied minor, consent from the guardian /
parent.
14. Proof of travel, i.e. flight itinerary, certified copy of police clearance for
applicant’s travelling by private motor vehicle.

In case of doubt about bonafides of any application, the Consular officials reserve the right to ask for
additional information; a cash deposit and / or valid return air ticket.
