Introductions
The girls couldn’t believe their eyes. They had somehow managed to go back
about four centuries and into a movie. One of their favorite movies. And they were
watching Jack Sparrow stealing the harbor master’s wallet. They just stood, frozen in
place. Well, almost in place.
Miranda lifted a hand and began pinching herself repeatedly, squeaking each time
she did so. The other three girls turned to look at her but it was Cecilia who asked, “What
are you doing Miranda?”
“Making sure—ow—that I’m not—ouch—dreaming.” She replied.
Bethany grabbed her hand before she could pinch herself again. “Stop it, Miranda,
we’re really here.” She said as she looked around, still trying to take everything in,
“We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore, Toto.”
“We are going to stand out, though.” Graci said, gesturing to the women walking
on the nearby road in their fancy dresses.
They all looked down at their own outfits. Tank tops. T-shirts. Shorts. Mini-skirts.
In this time period, not even temptresses would dress the way these girls did. They may
have been past the age of being accused of being witches, but they would surely still be
chastised for being out in such attire. “Yeah,” Cecilia agreed, pulling her skirt down
when she saw the men staring at her, “We need to get some new clothes.”
“And how’re we supposed to do that?” Bethany asked, throwing her hands in the
air, “We’re kinda short on 18th century currency.”
Graci and Cecilia looked past the docks and to what they could see of the town.
Directly ahead they saw a shop with a large glass window, dresses and suits hanging in it.
The two looked at each other and then smirked. They began walking, giggling impishly
to themselves. “Follow us.” they said together, motioning for Bethany and Miranda to
follow them.
Bethany and Miranda looked at each other, silently asking each other what the
two cousins were planning. Shrugging it off, they simply followed after them.
In no time at all, they were in front of the tailoring shop. Cecilia pushed open the
door, a little bell ringing above her head as the others came inside.
The room was filled with all kinds of clothes of all colors and all types. It was like
being in an olden day department store.
Behind the desk at the center of the room was a young man who looked to be
around the girls’ age. Cecilia and Graci winked at each other, and then went to work.
Cecilia strode over to the young man, flipping her hair over her shoulder. “Excuse
me.”
The young man looked up to see the beautiful brunette smiling down at him. His
cheeks flushed red and he cleared his throat. “G-good day, Miss.” He greeted her,
bowing.
Cecilia giggled. “Good day to you, too, sir.” She tucked her hands behind her
back, rocking slightly as she looked around the room. “Did you make all of these clothes
yourself?”
He laughed a little, shaking his head. “No, Miss, I’m merely an apprentice,” he
explained, stepping out from around the desk to stand in front of her. “I did make some of
them, though.” He held his hand out to her. “Would you like to see them?”
She took the extended hand gingerly. “Certainly.”
Miranda and Bethany watched with amazement as Cecilia wooed the young man
with such ease. Then, their eyes went wide as they saw, Graci sneaking around the store,
looking at clothes and then taking them. The cousins were pulling a fast one to get them
clothes. Wow… Miranda thought.
Las Primas Fabulosas strike again. Bethany thought.
Graci then came over to them with a large bundle of clothes in her arms. Bethany
and Miranda took this as their signal to leave.
Cecilia heard what sounded like a bird whistling and smiled at the young man.
“These are all wonderful, but I’m afraid that I must be going.” She said, separating
herself from him. As she prepared to exit, she winked at him. “Goodbye.”
The brunette practically ran out the door. However, once she was on the street,
her friends were nowhere to be found. She walked a little ways down the street, calling
out for them. Where could they have run off to?
As she walked past an alley, she was suddenly pulled into it. She opened her
mouth, prepared to scream for help, a hand quickly fell over her mouth. “Chii-Chii, it’s
just me!” Graci said, uncovering her mouth.
Bethany was also there. She was wearing a long sleeved, bare-shouldered gold
dress and was in the process of putting on a pair of yellow shoes. She had pulled her hair
into a bun using the hair tie she had been wearing on her wrist when they first came.
“You guys are unbelievable.” She said with a dry laugh.
“Yeah,” Miranda agreed, stepping out from behind the blanket hanging from the
low clothesline in the middle of the alleyway. “I can’t believe you guys used your powers
for evil like that.”
Cecilia giggled at that with a shrug of her shoulders. “We merely did what had to
be done at the time. By the way, that dress looks really good on you.”
Miranda smiled. She was in a jade green dress with a low neckline, the sleeves
stopping at her elbows with lacy cuffs. Her hair remained in its high ponytail. She twirled
around in it. “Thank you.”
Graci handed Cecilia her outfit and then shoved her behind the blanket to change.
In a couple of minutes, she stepped out in a sleeveless, cranberry colored dress with pink
trimming along the top hem. Using a large hair tie that had been wrapped around her
wrist, she had pulled her hair back into a bun, only leaving her bangs out. “Wow!”
Miranda said—or rather squealed. “You look so pretty!”
Cecilia looked at Graci, noting the simple black cape that was covering her. She
raised an eyebrow at her. “How come you didn’t change?”
“Oh, but I did.” She said, grinning before throwing the cape off of her shoulders,
“Ta-da!”
Beneath the cape, she wore a white shirt with quarter-length sleeves that just
barely went past her shoulders and a v-cut held together at the bosom by a thin leather
string; the bottom hem fell down over her hips. Black pants were tucked into a pair of
black boots and a belt hung loosely from her hips, carrying a sword and a pistol.
Once again, Bethany’s face twisted with disappointment and her arms folded over
her chest. “How come you stole dresses for us…?”
“And all that for you?” Miranda finished the question, gesturing to her clothes.
“And come to think of it,” Cecilia’s eyes sparkled in awe at the pistol and sword,
“How’d you get these?”
“We may be a few centuries prior to our own time, but I’m still a tomboy. No way
am I wearing a dress!” She said, slipping a long black coat over her shoulders with a
smirk. “And I may’ve shaken someone down while the girls were changing.”
Bethany only shook her head. She knew that that was absolutely true. It baffled
her, though, that these clothes they were wearing were actually from another time and
yet, they made them all look so much more beautiful.
They all let out a sigh, their shoulders slumped a bit as they looked at each other.
Miranda’s eyes lit up and she stood up straight. “Chino, you know this movie better than
anyone. What do we do now?”
“It’s quite simple really,” Graci said, starting walk towards the alley entrance,
“You guys go down to the Dauntless and the Interceptor to meet up with Jack while I go
to the smithy to wait for Will.” She waved to them over her shoulder. “Have fun.”
Miranda’s eyes went alight with jealousy and her mouth curled into a frown. She
clicked over to Graci and pulled her back by her jacket, making her land on her bum.
“Hold it, Graci.” She said, smiling a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes, “Why don’t
you go to the Dauntless and the Interceptor while I go to see Will.”
Cecilia went to hide behind Bethany, not liking where this was going.
Graci stood up, smiling the same smile as Miranda. “Mimi, you silly, silly little
girl,” she cooed, pinching her cheeks gently, “I’m going.”
Miranda smacked her friend’s hand away, now glaring at her. “Why don’t we
settle this the old fashioned way?”
“Let’s.”
Both girls whipped out their fists. Bethany and Cecilia’s eyes went wide with
worry. They weren’t expecting it to come to this.
“Rock, Paper, Scissors, shoot!”
The blonde and the brunette’s eyes then dulled. Cecilia’s hand went into the
center of her forehead. This was how they settled things?
Miranda’s index and middle fingers were out while Graci’s hand was flat.
“Dammit!” Graci swore.
Meron let out an excited holler. “Scissors cuts paper!! I’m coming, Will!” she
shouted, darting out of the alley.
Graci pouted a bit, and then shook her head. She knew that if she went with Jack,
she’d meet Will eventually. However, Miranda might never get the chance to because she
was not exactly familiar with Port Royal. She turned to Bethany. “Beth, you know Port
Royal as well as I do, right?”
Bethany grinned, nodding her head up and down. “Absolutely.”
Bethany was almost as big a fan of this movie as Graci was. In addition, she
always was really good at orienteering.
“Go with Mimi so she doesn’t get lost.” Graci said, pointing out of the alley.
Bethany clicked her heels together and raised her hand to her forehead in salute.
“Aye, Cap’n.” She turned and ran from the alley, waving over her shoulder, “Have fun
with Jack!”
Cecilia, once again, had been standing there with that blissfully unaware smile.
She had finally come back to her senses when she realized what Bethany had just said.
She suddenly let out a fan girl squeal, fanning herself quickly. “Oh, my gosh! Jack!” she
cried.
She took off down the alley so fast that she actually kicked up some of the dust on
the ground. She sang a song about wanting to see her favorite pirate. One that she had
completely made up on the spot.
Again? Graci thought.
She heard a shriek from around the corner, obviously coming from Cecilia.
“Cecilia!” Graci shouted, running out ready to beat someone up for harassing her cousin.
When she rounded the corner, she let out a scream herself. A scream of
admiration!
Standing in front of them was their idol, the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow!
Again!
This time, they weren’t admiring him from afar. He was less than two feet away
from them and he looked so. Freaking. Handsome!
Cecilia’s cheeks were dark red and she was breathing in an out quickly, one hand
fanning her face. Graci’s jaw was dropped, her cheeks a light orange—hey, even she had
to admit he was hot. Jack’s eyebrow was arched in question as to why the girls were
staring at him like that.
Cecilia’s hand stopped moving and she smacked herself across the face, taking
Jack and Graci by surprise. She smiled at the pirate. “Captain Jack Sparrow, I presume?”
Jack’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. Two girls that showed up completely out of
nowhere knew his name, one of them exceedingly beautiful and the other carrying a
sword and pistol. That did not bode well for him, considering his past history with
women. “That all depends on who’s asking…” he said in response.
Cecilia sighed. She could have died right then and there. She was talking to the
Jack Sparrow. And he was talking back. This beat going to the mall by a long shot.
She took a small handful of her dress in each hand and curtsied to him. “My name
is Cecilia Dumont.” She introduced herself, and then went to stand beside Graci, “And
this is my cousin, Graciela Escobar, a fellow pirate.”
“Charmed.” She said.
“And… how is it that you two are familiar with me?” he asked, looking between
the two of them.
Graci took over from there. “I’m… from Tortuga. It’s the only safe place for a
pirate to be these days.” She lied, nodding her head as she muttered, “Yeah, that’s it.
And… my cousin… She’s been traveling with me recently. Don’t let her looks fool you,
she’s quite feisty when she wants to be.”
The suspicion did not leave Jack’s face, even as the girls flashed their most
innocent smiles. “Cecilia and Graciela, was it?” he asked. They nodded. “State your
business with me.”
Before Graci had a chance to continue, Cecilia jumped in again. “We’ve come to
join your crew!” she cheered with excitement.
Jack looked flabbergasted, leery of two women suddenly wanting to join his crew,
especially when one of them hardly looked ready to sail.
The brunette took a couple of steps towards him, wrapping her arms around one
of his arms, but not before throwing a wink at Graci. “It’s not every day that you get to
sail with the great Captain Jack Sparrow.”
Graci smirked, taking hold of his other arm. “It truly is an honor.”
“Why, we’re hardly worthy to breathe the same air as you!” Cecilia continued.
Both girls batted their eyelashes at him, giggling.
Jack’s suspicion slowly melted as his manly ego started to take control of him. It
was rare to see anyone who thought of Jack as highly as he thought of himself.
He grinned down at the girls, freeing his arms from their grasp and putting them
around their shoulders. “Well… as long as we’ve established that I am so great a captain
and that you two are far from worthy to be in my presence, I suppose I must accept your
proposal.”
Cecilia’s heart did a back flip as they all began to walk through the town. Not
only was she walking with Jack Sparrow, but she was also touching him. This had to be
the best day of her entire life.
Not long after they had started walking, the sound of snare drums and flutes
drifted down to them from the fort, which Graci had mentally identified as Fort Charles.
By the time the girls came back into a solid state of mind, they were already at the
harbor, where the Interceptor and the Dauntless were docked. Absently, the three of them
walked past the two soldiers guarding it, Mullroy and Murtogg. The two suddenly
jumped up from their sitting positions and went to block their way. “This dock is off-
limits to civilians.” Murtogg told them, bayonet in hand.
“I’m terribly sorry. We didn’t know. If we see one, we shall inform you
immediately.” Jack responded, trying to sneak around the soldiers.
They moved so that they were blocking his way again. Jack stopped in place, and
then put his bargaining skills to use, his eyes going up to Fort Charles. “Apparently
there’s some sort of high toned and fancy to-do up at the fort, eh? How could it be that
two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?”
“Someone has to make sure this dock stays off-limits to civilians.” Murtogg said.
“Where do you see civilians?” Cecilia asked as she let out a sigh, and then looked
behind her. There was nobody there but the five of them. Her hands fell upon her hips.
“Why do you need to guard the dock anyhow?”
“We are to make sure nobody reaches the Dauntless or the Interceptor.” Mullroy,
the heavier soldier said, keeping his bayonet high.
“It seems to me…” Jack started to say as he tried to get past them, once again
failing as they headed him off. “A ship like that,” He pointed to the Dauntless, “Makes
this one seem a bit superfluous.”
Murtogg grinned. “Oh, the Dauntless is the power in these waters,” he said, “But
there’s no ship as can match the Interceptor for speed.”
Jack put a finger to his chin, his eyes rolling up in thought, “I’ve heard of one,
supposed to be very fast; nigh uncatchable.”
Graci’s eyes popped open a bit. She knew what was coming next, which would be
the perfect window of opportunity to sneak up to the Interceptor.
“The Black Pearl.” Jack named the ship.
Mullroy’s body shook from the chuckles that escaped him. “There’s no real ship
as can match the Interceptor.” He said between chuckles.
Murtogg turned to his partner, frowning. “The Black Pearl is a real ship.”
Mullroy, still grinning, shook his head. “No, it’s not.”
A brief discussion about whether or not the Black Pearl really did exist arose
from that comment, giving them enough time to sneak up the dock.
In this time, Jack gently grabbed Cecilia by the arm and tugged her towards the
Interceptor. He was surprised to see that Graci was already up there, trying to haul loose
the mooring lines. “You got up here quickly, huh?” Cecilia said with a laugh.
“Only because of Captain Sparrow. Brilliant distraction, mate.” She
complimented him, still trying to stay in his good graces.
Jack sauntered over to the wheel, lazily putting a hand on it. “Not a problem.”
“Hey! You!” Murtogg cried as he and Mullroy ran up to the ship, “Get away from
there!”
They pointed their rifles at the sneaky trio. “You all don’t have permission to be
aboard there, mate.”
Cecilia and Graci put their hands over their mouths, light gasps escaping their
lips. “We don’t ?” they asked, clearly being facetious. They stuck their lips out in a pout,
lowering their heads, “We whole-heartedly apologize.”
“It’s just such a pretty boat—” he put up a hand and then corrected herself,
“Ship.”
Mullroy’s eyes narrowed. “What’re your names?”
Cecilia flashed her best smile at the two soldiers, curtsying to them. “Cecilia
Dumont. A pleasure to meet you, gentlemen.”
“Graciela Escobar, at your service.” She threw a grin at them.
“Smith. Or Smithy, if you like.”
Jack didn’t use his real name. It would only prove a nuisance to his primary
objective.
“What’s your purpose in Port Royal, Mr. Smith?” Mullroy asked, putting
emphasis on the last part.
“Yeah. And no lies.” Murtogg added.
“Well, then,” Jack pushed himself away from the wheel and walked towards them
as he began his explanation, “I confess. It is my intention to commandeer one of these
ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer my weasely
black guts out.”
“I’m just here for the gold and glory.” Graci admitted, winking at them, “And to
snag a few sailors while I’m at it.”
The soldiers stared at him and the girls, who were nodding in agreement. “I said
no lies!” Mullroy said.
Murtogg leaned over to him. “I think they’re telling the truth…”
“If they were telling the truth, they wouldn’t have told us.”
“Unless, of course, we knew you wouldn’t believe the truth even if we told it to
you.”
Mullroy and Murtogg exchanged thoughtful glances with each other at that.
Cecilia giggled a little bit at their faces. Then, she turned her attention to Jack,
bringing her hands to one cheek. “Jack, why don’t you tell us a story?”
Everybody’s attention went to the brunette at the question. Jack raised an eyebrow
at her. “A story?”
“A… story…?” Graci followed.
She grinned from ear to ear, nodding her head. “A story.”

Meanwhile, in the heart of town at Mr. Brown’s blacksmithing shop, Bethany and
Miranda were having a ball while waiting for Will. After telling Miranda that it was
going to be a little while before the handsome blacksmith would get there, they decided
to do things to keep each other busy.
At the moment, Bethany was in the rafters, her arms out at her side as she walked
along one of the narrow beams. Her shoes were on the ground below her. She was not
about to get her heel caught in a knothole and kill herself. “Do you think I could do this
for a living?” she asked before teetering off to the side for a brief moment.
Miranda was on the back of the donkey attached to the large mechanism which
held a majority of the swords, riding around on it as it went in the circle. It was almost
like an olden-day merry-go-round.
She looked up at Bethany, watching as she walked along the beam and then made
a small jump to another. The ebony haired girl giggled, nodding up at her. “You could
join the circus.” She suggested, throwing her hands out in front of her as to create an
invisible billboard, “Bethany the Brave—Ack!”
Miranda had forgotten that she needed to hold onto the donkey and tumbled off of
him, landing on the ground with a thud.
Bethany giggled before jumping back down to the ground. She slipped her shoes
onto her feet. She went over to help Miranda up, only to find that she was already on her
feet again. And next to sleeping Mr. Brown with her finger extended!
The blonde rushed over to her friend and smacked her hand. “What are you
doing?!” she hissed quietly, “Are you trying to get us caught?!”
Miranda shook her hand in an attempt to rid herself of the pain, pouting. “Oh,
come on!” she whispered.
Bethany shook her head. “We’re pushing the envelope as it is.”
Miranda’s finger made contact with his belly, giggling lightly. “He’s so drunk he
won’t even notice.” She assured her, poking him again as she smirked.
Bethany bit her lip. “We really shouldn’t…”
“You know you want to…”
She held her hands to her side, trying to resist the urge. However, it looked like a
lot of fun and… Oh, who was she kidding?
She laughed quietly and joined Miranda. The two girls poked the sleeping man
over and over again. Suddenly, the man snorted and they stopped for fear that he was
waking up. After a moment, he snored, signaling that he was deep in sleep. Giggling,
they started up again.

Down at the docks, Cecilia, Graci and the soldiers were sitting in front of Jack as
he regaled them with a tale of one of his many adventures. “…And then they made me
their chief.”
A quiet splash beside the ship cut the story short and they all turned to look.
Cecilia remembered this as the part of the movie where Elizabeth had fallen over the side
of the Fort and into the water. However, as they rushed over to the side of the ship, she
found that living it was more intense than seeing it on a TV screen. This woman was
actually about to drown.
Jack turned to Mullroy. “Will you be saving her then?”
“I can’t swim.” He confessed.
The pirate then turned his attention to Murtogg, who simply stared back at him
blankly.
“Pride of the King’s navy you are…” He said taking off his hat, his coat and all of
his weapons and handing them to the soldiers, “Do not lose these.”
After ridding himself of everything, he stepped up onto the rail and dove into the
water. Cecilia and Graci looked at him as he went and then looked at each other. They
nodded, grinning. “I’d give that a ten.” Cecilia said with a thumbs-up.
Graci took Jack’s hat from Mullroy and then placed it on her cousin’s head.
Cecilia’s eyes went up as if she were trying to look at it. She nearly screamed, gripping
her cousin’s shoulders tightly and shaking her back and forth vigorously. “I’m wearing
his hat!” She abruptly let Graci’s shoulders go and watched her stumble before turning to
the soldiers, jumping up and down. “I’m wearing his hat!”
Murtogg was about to comment on the girl’s strange behavior when he felt a
sudden pulse beneath the boat. He shared a confused glance with his partner. “What was
that?”
They heard the heavy flapping of the flag above them and they looked up, seeing
that the wind was now blowing in the opposite direction of what it was a moment ago.
Clouds were starting to roll in as well as they ran down to the dock. Jack was just coming
out of the water, Elizabeth’s body slung over his shoulder.
“I’ve got her!” Mullroy said, helping Jack lay her on the dock and starting to
panic a bit. “She’s not breathing!”
“Move!” Jack ordered as he shoved him aside and whipped out a knife, slicing
through the corset squeezing the woman’s midsection and tossing it up to Murtogg.
Elizabeth’s eyes shot open and she coughed up some water, gasping for air.
Cecilia and Graci knelt down beside her. “Are you alright?” the older cousin asked.
“I never would have thought of that.” Mullroy told Jack.
Jack glanced it him for a moment. “Clearly, you’ve never been to Singapore.” He
looked back down at Elizabeth and his eyes caught sight of the golden medallion hanging
from her neck; he picked it up in one hand. “Where did you get that…?”
Graci and Cecilia went to help Elizabeth sit up when they were surrounded by
Norrington and a small division as well as the governor of soldiers surrounded them. “On
your feet.” Norrington ordered, “The lot of you.”
Oh, crap…Graci thought.
