Setting up Machine on Pilot Ill-

Safety Instructions.
Safety helmet and safety shoes must be worn to prevent
personal injuries by falling and overturning objects. ffl ffl
4.1 Make sure
the proper adapter head is attached to the feed gear,
the pilot is in vertical position and
the cylinder head is firmly fixed.
If required, change adapter head (see page 15).
4.2 Mount cutting tool.
Clamp cutting insert to insert holder.
Remove clamping screws (8.1.1) from tool slide (8.1) and then use the clamping screws to
attach the cutting tool (C) to the tool slide.
4.3 place machine on the pilot.
Slide machine over the pilot until either the depth stop (1) rests upon the pilot or the cutting
tool (C) contacts the cylinder head.
Caution
The carbide cutting edge is rather brittle.
Take care the cutting edge does not bump against the valve seat or the cylinder head.
4.4 Position cutting edge of cutting tool over the valve seat.
Turn rapid tool adjuster (6) to position cutting edge of cutting tool (C) approximately over
the central portion of the valve seat (S).
Hold machine with one hand and loosen depth stop locking screw (1.1).
Allow machine to slide down until the cutting edge contacts the valve seat lightly.
4.5 Lock depth stop.
Push depth stop (1) downward to ensure proper contact with the pilot and then tighten
depth stop locking screw (1.1)

4.6 Connect electricity.


Caution
Make sure the input voltage stated at the nameplate of the power supply unit corre-
sponds to the mains voltage.
Insert the round plug of the outlet cable (9.2) of the power supply unit (9) into the corre-
sponding socket (3.2) on the driving assembly (3).
Cormect the two-wire supply cable of the power supply unit to a mains outlet supplying the
voltage stated at the name plate of the power supply unit.
Grounding of the power supply unit is not required.
Risk of accident by electric shock.
For your personal safety make sure the power supply cable is not damaged
and cannot be damaged by the revolving parts during operation of the
machine. '
