Activity 1

TYPES OF SWITCH HOW DOES IT WORK?

A Single Pole Single Throw (SPST)

switch is a switch that only has a single
input and can connect only to one
output. This means it only has one input
terminal and only one output terminal.

DPST switch stands for a double pole

single throw electrical switch. A DPST
switch controls two circuits at the same
time; either both circuits are ON or both
circuits are OFF.

A Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT)

switch is a switch that only has a single
input and can connect to and switch
between the 2 outputs. This means it
has one input terminal and two output
terminals. A Single Pole Double Throw
switch can serve a variety of functions in
a circuit.
A Push Button switch is a type of switch
which consists of a simple electric
mechanism or air switch mechanism to
turn something on or off. Depending on
model they could operate with
momentary or latching action function.
The button itself is usually constructed
of a strong durable material such as
metal or plastic. Like the name implies,
this switch works through force.

Materials : Arduino Uno R3
Breadboard (small)
LED
Resistor
Pushbutton

Explain how the program works

When the simulations starts, the LED will light up continuously. It will only change if
there’s a change to the variables.
