“How To” Install Remote Connect Support

Feature

§ RemoteConnect Support allows a customer


support operator to remotely connect to a
customer’s MFP or Printer over the Internet to
diagnose and resolve issues through real-time
§ Allows a call-center operator to share a MFP operation screen &
screen sharing.

Installing RemoteConnect Support

§ Log in to Smart Operation Panel SP mode,


[Reset 8 0 6 1 8 2 # # C]
§ Next select [Application Settings]

§ Scroll to the bottom and press [Screen Device Settings]


Installing RemoteConnect Support

§ Scroll down until you see Remote Support § Select the checkbox [ ] for “Service
Service. Select [Settings] availability” to enable the Remote Connect
Client Tool, as this is normally unchecked by
default. When you're done press [Logout]
Installation Verification

§ From the home screen, click [Check Status] § Next to Remote Support click [Start]

§ *If the start button does not go to the license agreement screen, please restart the device.
Installation Verification

§ RemoteConnect Support will open. Press [Accept]


§ If setup is successful, the MFP will generate a random 4-digit code
§ This is the code the user will provide to the help desk for the secure connection

§ Customer support operator can now provide remote guidance or operation
