Whole Body/Parts
What do the dancers do with their WHOLE bodies? Dancers utilize their bodies to communicate
internal thoughts, feelings, and goals in an external form, which they then share with others. Dance can
either express this inner world or be abstract, focusing on shapes and patterns.

How were different PARTS of the body used? The dancer's body is the dynamic figure or shape that
others perceive and feel. As the dancer moves in position or moves through the dance area, the body
remains relatively static at moments and changes at other times. In a dance phrase, dancers might
highlight certain areas of their bodies or use their entire body at simultaneously.

Initiation: Where does the movement mostly start? Circle or  your choice:
CORE ……………………………………….………..………………… DISTAL
Center of the body Ends of the body
Torso, back, core Hands, Feet, Heat

Body Shapes
What shapes did the body make? Please draw or describe:
You can see how the dancers use specific body parts to form beautiful shapes like circles, squares,
triangles, halo shapes, shapes with straight lines and angles, curved or organic patterns, and they also
produce motions like waves in this sample from The Peepz's.

What else did you notice about how the body was used in this dance?
The motion, movement, and gestures were all well-executed.

Personal Reflection
Could you see yourself doing this movement? Why or why not?

Yes. Because of the song's pace, it was irresistible to actually mimic the dance step, even if it was
complicated.
