MMBN Chrono X Multiplayer Setup Guide

Select Comm in the Pause Menu

You will be prompted to enter your name the first time you select
Comm. After you have a Name, you’ll be taken to the Fight Options
screen.
From this menu, you can see your Mates List (friends you’ve
NetBattled against) or edit your Profile. You can also highlight your
code to copy it and let others play against you.

Choose from a list of about 27 avatars. More to come in future

releases. Note: Changing your name will reset all your fight records.
Be mindful of this in the future.
This is your Mates List. It tells you how far your friend has gotten in
Chrono X and the last date you fought them. The trophy icon indicates
official Chrono X tournaments that he or she has won. You can store
up to 15 friends to NetBattle with.

Currently, Demo Complete is the only icon available, but in the full-
game, you can expect icons such as Standard Complete, Bass
Complete and many more.

B: The number of Real Battles he or she fought.

W: The number of Real Battles he or she has won.
D: refers to Disconnects in separate matches.

These 3 statistics only count when selecting Real Battles. Real Battles
are not enabled in this release.
The default screen once you’ve exited your profile, or select Comm in
subsequent usages.

BN Mate – Fight or Trade BattleChips with your friends. One person

must be HS (Host) and the other CL(Client). Failure to do so will result
in not being able to Connect.
Search – This will allow you to ditch the friend code aspect, and fight a
random NetBattler who’s currently playing Chrono X. Think of this as
Random Matchmaking. It isn’t implemented in V5.0, but will most
likely come in V5.1

Special -- What could this be? Not functional in V5.0, but there will be
something later.
Note that it says “HS” on the top right. This is fairly straightforward,
especially if you’ve played any Battle Network game’s multiplayer.
Selecting NetBattle lets you select whether to go Single, or
TripleBattle (Best 2 of 3). You can then select Practice or Battle(fight
to gain an extra chip). In this version, only Practice is functional.
Trade simply lets you trade BattleChips over, to help complete your
friend’s Library. Not functional as of yet, but will be in the full-game.

Note: If you are equipping any Me.M.E.N.T.O. forms, they will show
up here as well.
Once you and your opponent have agreed to the fight and its type,
you will come upon this screen. This is where you will enter your
friend’s NetBattle code and play multiplayer. Simply select your code
to copy it to your clipboard.

Tip: You can use the bot on the Chrono X Discord to streamline this
process with !setbattlecode and !getbattlecode commands.
Once you’ve entered your friends code, you can select whether to
Connect immediately or Edit the code in case of a mistake. Make sure
that one person is on HS(Host), and the other is on CL(Client). Doubly
make sure that you and your friend have selected the same Fight Type
and Number of Battles.
For 10 seconds, you can attempt to connect with your friend (cancel
with B button that you set). Make sure both parties are connecting at
this time.

Once a successful connection has been made, their names will show
up here, no longer requiring you to enter a code.

Troubleshooting
Q: Can I access Multiplayer from any point in the game?
A: Yes, with the exception of parts that restrict your
access in some ways, such as the Speed Preliminary
Round in Chapter 3.

Q: I found a bug. Where do I report it?

A: You can do so via the Chrono X forums. Please give as
many details as possible. It’s important to note that our
programmer’s first language isn’t English, so be clear and
concise when reporting a bug. A video/screenshot of the
bug also goes a long way.

Q: I keep disconnecting from my games! Is it just me?

A: Sometimes the game may disconnect if the
information it received from the opposing NetBattler is
inaccurate. This typically happens as a result of a bad
Internet Connection. Try NetBattling against someone a
little closer to your location and see if that resolves your
issue.
Q: I can’t connect. Is the game broken?
A: There may be a few reasons you cannot connect. First,
check if both parties are using the correct Mate code.
Usage of the clipboard and Discord bot should mitigate
some human error. After this, it’s a bit harder to
troubleshoot. One or both parties may be experiencing
difficulties with their Internet connection. Or there may
be too great of a distance between each NetBattler.

Next, each person should check his or her NAT-type

that’s specified in their routers settings to see if Chrono X
can connect in the first place. You need to make sure
your NAT-type meets these standards. If you do not, then
you will be unable to connect until the Chrono X team
can assist you.

Alternatively, go into the KeyConfig tool that’s provided

with the same directory as the game and have both
parties enable uPnP under Misc. When uPnP is enabled
and working, the router’s NAT-type is irrelevant.
