Being Too Dependent on the Internet is Savage


Internet is one of the powerful creations that offer people endless knowledge and
entertainment. Nowadays, almost all things can be done with the help of internet. It helps us find
out and give information and knowledge you want to know about. Internet also have
disadvantages like addiction, time- waster and causes distraction. Due to it, if you are surfing the
internet frequently, playing online games and spending too much time on the computer, it can
also lead to obesity and an unhealthy lifestyle. Internet helped people to improve different
everyday tasks but it has also caused them to become too reliant on it.
Internet addiction is common among teens, as the internet becomes more accessible.
They engage in these practices for variety of reasons, including fun, challenge, emotional coping,
and enthusiasm. However, both regular usage of social media and heavy gaming may have
harmful consequences.
Students rely on technology and internet for correct answers, grammar and spelling. It
seems they can’t do or answer anything without the help of internet. If they lose internet access,
it seems they are done working the day. Even simple math equations, they can’t do it without the
use of calculator.
Using internet very frequently can face abusive and trolls’ people. Another issue,
cyberbullying is increasing rapidly over the years. According to a DoSomething.org, about 37%
of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 have been bullied online. 30% have had it
happen more than once.
Spending too much time on the internet can be addicted to the internet. An internet addict
can lead to spending his/ her precious time on the internet, rather than doing something
productive. Also, it can lead to obesity, health issues, and unhealthy lifestyle. And being an
internet addict will help hackers to find your personal information easier.
All things considered, it is undeniable that the internet opens up a world of possibilities
for people especially among teens but we must be sensible of the risks of online addiction.
Remember, “Social media not only snatches your time, but it also teaches you attention
deficiency”. Learn to control ourselves and internet usage for us not to drown on those risks
instead have a brighter future through its help.
