The theme for the entertainment this week is We Love Dancing – a break in which we
celebrate all forms of dance and is perfect for learning new ways to trip the light
fantastic. The afternoon lessons are for those stepping out onto the dance floor for the
first time and the evening dances are open to everyone. Lessons include Latin, Tango,
Rock’n’Roll, line & ballroom.
Our excursion programme this week will include visits to Portsmouth and Chichester.

Departing on Friday morning, we travel to Folkestone & check into the Burstin
Hotel. Situated on the harbourside, this large hotel is renowned for good food &
entertainment. All bedrooms are en-suite and most rooms have good views over the
harbour.
Evening dinner is a 3 course meal with tea/coffee. The entertainment tonight is a mix
of bingo, quiz & cabaret.
On Saturday, after a hearty breakfast, our excursion is a shopping trip to France and
Belgium – so don’t forget your passport. We return in time for evening dinner and to-
nights entertainment.
Sunday is a free day to enjoy Folkestone. Breakfast & evening dinner are included
again to-day as is the entertainment.

The lovely seaside resort of Southport has a wide range of attractions including
wonderful beaches, a model railway village and large man made lake with lakeside
walks, railway, pier and paddle steamer rides.
Departing on Monday morning we travel to The Royal Clifton Hotel & Spa. Situated
within walking distance of the attractions, it is located on the Promenade, overlooking
the impressive Kings Gardens and sandy beaches. The hotel is also located close to
Lord Street, Southport’s mile long main shopping area.
The Royal Clifton Hotel & Spa boasts 120 en-suite tastefully furnished bedrooms,
with all the usual facilities one can expect from a 3 star Best Western Hotel. It has a
fabulous restaurant, two bars and a leisure centre (consisting of a heated indoor
swimming pool, steam room, sauna, spa bath, a fully equipped air-conditioned
gymnasium and a health & beauty salon) as well as a fabulous garden and patio area.
Our first excursion will be to the Albert Dock in Liverpool -the largest group of Grade
I listed buildings in Britain. Now home to award-winning visitor attractions,
restaurants and gift shops, why not start with a tour of Tate Liverpool, home to a
National Collection of Modern Art. Free gallery tours are available daily. Then drop
anchor at the Merseyside Maritime Museum to discover the stories of the Titanic
disaster, the Battle of the Atlantic and a world of smuggling, tax evasion, protest and
war. Then re-live your youth at the Beatles Story - the exhibition that offers a
complete study of the Fab Four from school days to worldwide stardom.
Our other excursion will take us on Safari at Knowsley Safari Park. With over 700
wild animals – some large others very small! – there is plenty to see at the Sea lion
Show, the Bat House, the Birds of Prey exhibition and the meerkat enclosure or enjoy
listening to the keepers talk about their work.
Torquay is a well known resort and this year we are staying at the Abbey Court Hotel.
New to us, this 2* hotel is a peaceful and tranquil hotel offering high standards and
professional service and is nicely situated in a fairly flat area of Torquay - just a short
walk to the town and beach.
All rooms are en-suite and have colour TV, radio, tea & coffee tray. Some rooms have
seaviews, and these are allocated on a “first come” basis.
The hotel has central heating throughout and a lift to all floors. There is a Licensed
Bar with separate lounge, and they provide entertainment on 2 nights. The restaurant
offers healthy eating options and is able to cater for special diets with prior notice.
There is also an outdoor pool (heated from May to September) with Sun Terrace and
poolside patio – ideal for our summer visits.

Jersey by Air

Once again we are pleased to be able to offer you a holiday in the delightful Channel Islands.
Jersey – the most southerly of the British Isles – has a unique charm, which stems
from its mixture of British & French backgrounds. The scenery on the island is really
varied - there are beautiful long sandy beaches and secluded coves. The local
attractions include everything from Neolithic caves to the German built Underground
hospital, the glass church to the pottery, the rugged coastline to the zoo. Shopaholics
will love St Helier where all the prices are VAT free and lovers of sea food will truly
appreciate the local cuisine. Getting around is easy too - there is a very good local
bus service that serves all parts of the island.

On Tuesday, after a full Scottish breakfast, we collect our packed lunches and travel
through the beautiful countryside to Edinburgh, stopping en-route at the Roslyn
Chapel – made famous by The Da Vinci Code film – a unique building that survived
the Reformation. The afternoon is free to enjoy Edinburgh. We return to the hotel for
evening dinner accompanied by a glass of wine and 3 drinks vouchers for use in the
bar to-night whilst enjoying the entertainment.
On Wednesday with packed lunch in hand, we travel to Loch Lomond, with whistle
stops in Callendar, Aberfoyle & Drymen. We return to the hotel for another fantastic
evening meal accompanied by a glass of wine and 3 drinks vouchers for use in the bar
to-night. The evening of Scottish entertainment follows.
Thursday we travel first to Ayr for a breathe of fresh seaside air before heading to
Dumfries House for a peek into an 18th century manor house. We head back to
Abington for our final dinner accompanied by a glass of wine and 3 drinks vouchers
for use in the bar to-night.
After a hearty breakfast on Monday, we continue onto Donegal. This lovely town is
situated on the west coast of Ireland. Things to do in Donegal include: The Donegal
Bay Waterbus, Donegal Castle, Donegal Railway Heritage Centre and on the outskirts
of town you will find the Donegal Craft Village. Our hotel for the next 4 nights is the
Central Hotel. Rated 3*, it is located in the heart of Donegal Town, giving you easy
access to the harbourside as well as the local shops & inns! All bedrooms have
private bathroom, tea/coffee, colour TV and hairdryer. Full Irish breakfasts & 3
course evening dinners are provided on each evening of your stay.
The hotel is also a venue for large cabaret shows and an admission charge applies:

We depart from the hotel after breakfast on Friday and make our way back to the
outskirts of Dublin for our final night. The Regency Hotel is situated on a main bus
route into Dublin, so, as we aim to arrive by mid afternoon, you will have the
opportunity to visit the city. Evening dinner is provided in the hotel to-night.
We check out of the hotel early on Saturday morning ( 5.45am) and urge you to make
use of the tea/coffee facilities in your room as breakfast is NOT provided at the hotel
– however, a Full Irish breakfast is available as soon as we board the ferry for the
return journey home ( 8.00am) and the price is included in your total holiday cost.

Visit and explore the beauty of not just one but two of the Channel Islands….
Departing on Thursday, we collect you from our usual departure point and take you
to Birmingham Airport for the short flight to Guernsey (approx. 75 mins). On arrival
you will be met by our local rep who will ensure that you are transferred to your hotel.
The La Trelade Hotel is a 3* hotel in the countryside yet only a short walk to the
coastal path. It is rated 3* and has an indoor pool & free wi-fi. All bedrooms have
tea/coffee, colour TV and hairdryer. The hotel is on 2 main bus routes: 1 runs to St
Peter Port every 15 mins and the other offers a full coastal tour 4 times a day. Bus
fares are cheap: unlimited travel for less than £ 5 per day (correct 1/3/14)
After a hearty breakfast on Friday, you will be collected from the hotel for a ½ day
tour of Guernsey. Saturday is a free day to explore the quiet country lanes and cliff
walks surrounding the hotel, or for the less energetic, why not relax beside the pool
and soak up the atmosphere.
On Sunday, you check out of the hotel and will be collected for your transfer by
Condor Ferry to Jersey. On arrival at St Helier port, you will once again be met and
transferred to your Jersey hotel.
The Monterey Hotel is rated 3* It is a family owned hotel situated in St Helier. All
bedrooms are en-suite with tea/coffee & colour TV with satellite channels. There is
free wi-fi in the hotel and it is on the main bus route. The hotel also has both indoor
and outdoor swimming pools.
After a hearty breakfast on Monday, you will be taken on a full day tour of Jersey, to
experience the contrast of the two Islands. Tuesday is a free day to explore the island
by local transport or simply soak up the sun.

The De Vere Wychwood Park Hotel is rated 4* and is surrounded by a golf course
overlooking the beautiful Cheshire countryside. All 108 bedrooms are decorated to a

Restaurant.
On Tuesday we to travel into Staffordshire to The Trentham Estate. The gardens here
have recently been restored and at this time of year will be ablaze of summer colour.
There will also be time to visit the shopping village – a mix of independent shops –
and we will stay long enough for you to enjoy lunch in one of the cafes or restaurants.
We then move on to the Wedgewood Visitor Centre and enjoy a Master Ceramic
Experience, with time to explore the Museum.
After a hearty breakfast on Wednesday, we visit the historic city of Chester. We begin
with a guided tour of the historical city – famed for being one of the best walled cities
in Britain, with its medieval buildings dating back to the 13 century. There will be
free time to enjoy the city at your leisure this afternoon.

of golden beach, then along the heritage trail to Flamborough Head (walking shoes

The Air Show takes place from Friday to Sunday, giving you all week-end to enjoy
the spectacular flying displays.
On Saturday, we travel to the Steam Fair where you will be able to soak up the sights
& smells of the steam age and wonder in amazement at the traction engines & steam
powered machinery that keeps on working long after its modern rivals have gone !

Accessing the city centre couldn't be simpler: there is a bus stop outside the hotel or
it’s just 15 minutes on foot. By contrast, less than half a mile away from the hotel is
Jesmond Dene, a popular park set in a picturesque wooden valley - further evidence
that the hotel's location offers the best of both worlds.
Our first excursion is a step back in time with a visit to Beamish Open Air Museum.
This fine collection of Edwardian buildings lets you experience the every day lives of
the people: the dentist, the baker, the music teacher and the places: the Co-Op shop,
print works and the pub to name but a few ! You can take a tram ride or just revel in
the smell of fresh bread from the bakery.
After another hearty breakfast on Wednesday, we make our way to Alnwick Castle &
Garden. Home of the Dukes of Northumberland, the Castle offers history on a grand
scale – from knights and wizards to gunpowder plotters and passionate collectors.
Or if you prefer you can wander around the magnificent gardens. Just ten years ago,
this site was derelict and forgotten. Today, The Alnwick Garden is an inspiring
landscape with beautiful gardens, unique features - including a Treehouse and the
Poison Garden - and magnificent architecture, all brought to life with water.

After a hearty breakfast on Sunday, we travel to the Keighley & Worth Valley
Railway. This is the line used in the making of the film “The Railway Children” and
there will be a nostalgic ride on a train to Haworth, home of the Bronte sisters. We
have an exclusive welcome talk at the Parsonage museum as well as time to wander at
leisure in Haworth.
We leave Leeds on Monday morning and return home, arriving back by early
afternoon.
All rooms are very well presented and many have seaviews. All bedrooms are en-
suite with colour TV, radio, hairdryer and tea/coffee tray. There is a lift to all floors.
The hotel has an indoor pool & sauna and squash courts for the more energetic !

winning hotel is situated close to the North Pier, the Tower and main shopping area.

To complete your package our coach will take you on a tour of the Illuminations after
evening dinner on Friday, allowing you a free day on Saturday, just remember to

DEPARTURE DATE & DESTINATION: Please make sure that the holiday destination you require is
offered on the date you have chosen. The duration of the holiday is from day of departure to day of
return.
DEPARTURE POINTS: We offer a number of departure points for most holidays, with a central
point in each town chosen for the nearby availability of parking facilities, taxi rank, or telephones. We
regret that we cannot offer points other than those advertised. We will assume that you departure point
will be the one nearest your address. If you wish to join the coach elsewhere, please give details in the
special requirements section.
DISABILITIES: Persons with a disability should notify us by phone before booking so that we can
check the suitability of the holiday. If you need to take a wheelchair, it must be a manual (push) type as
we cannot accept motorised wheelchairs. We regret that our coaches are not fitted with wheelchair lifts
and so clients must be able to board the coach unaided.
INSURANCE: Holiday insurance is available to cover you for the loss of your money if YOU have to
cancel due to ill health or other personal circumstances. For all insurance sales after 1 Jan 2009,
J&MB Travel will be acting as an Introducer Appointed Representative of Gold Cover Ltd.
Gold Cover is Authorised & Regulated by the Financial Services Authority. For travel outside the UK,
you are advised to obtain an EHIC (Forms are available from your Post Office).
LUGGAGE ALLOWENCE: The standard allowance for all our holidays is 1 medium suitcase per
person weighing no more than 12Kg ( 26lbs). For holidays including an overnight stop, 1 small
overnight bag is allowed in addition to your normal suitcase. All other items must be stowed on the
coach but be aware that space around you is limited.
MEALS & EXCURSIONS: All our holidays include meals and most include excursions. We regret
that we cannot give refunds/reduce holiday costs for meals or excursions not taken.
PASSPORTS: A valid passport is required for ALL clients travelling outside the UK. (Except to
Jersey or Eire). This applies to Coach Holidays and Day Trips. Passports should be valid for 3 months
after the date of return. Further details are available at your local Post Office .
SINGLE ROOMS: The demand for single rooms always exceeds the number available on each
holiday, so early booking is essential. Passengers travelling together are therefore advised to share a
twin room if possible. Where a supplement is charged, this does not guarantee a double/twin room.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A special requirement is something that would effect your ability to
enjoy the holiday. Please inform us at the time of booking if any one has any vegetarian meals,
special diets, disabilities etc so that hotels can be made aware in good time. They are often unable to
deal with special requirements notified by you on arrival.
SPECIAL REQUESTS: When ever possible we will pass on to the hotel your requests for quiet
rooms, sea views, low floor rooms etc. However we cannot guarantee that your request will be
honoured as the hotels allocate rooms according to availability. Specific coach seats can be requested
however they are allocated in order of booking and once allocated will not be changed unless due to a
change of vehicle. If your request cannot be honoured, the nearest available will be allocated. We will
always try to keep travelling companions together.
THE LEGAL BITS: For the protection of your money, all funds are held in a trust
account with Nat West Bank until after the return date of your holiday.
