Josh: Hey! The reunion is gonna be in 5 days, are you ready?
Ashanti: Ofcourse I am… the venue is ready, the catering is ready, the food is ready… I mean everything is ready right? Josh: Yeah but can you double check if we really rented the whole private resort? You know, I don’t want our batchmates to have COVID, we have to make sure. Ashanti: Ofcourse Nurse Josh: Thanks doc (laughs) (calls the resort) Ashanti: Hi! Good morning! This is Ashanti Hernandez. Yes! I just want to request if you could check *coughs* if we really reserved the whole resort this coming Wednesday… Yes.. That’s great!.. That would be all.. Thank you also. (ends call) Ashanti: The receptionist said it is reserved by us this Wednesday. Josh: That’s good… uhm, Ash can you tell me where in your house is that smoke coming from? Ashanti: What smoke? O my god! It’s burning! It’s burning! It’s burning! (removes what’s burnin’) Ashanti: Sorry about that, I didn’t noticed, I was cooking when you called Josh: You—you didn’t smell it? Ashanti: uhm no (slowly showing shock face) Josh: Go get an apple cider and taste it now! (drinks) Ashanti: O my god! Josh! I can’t taste it! It is suppose to sour! Why can’t I taste it? O my god! Do I have COVID? Oh please god no! no! no! Josh: Calm down Ashanti! Don’t attend the reunion and you have to take care of yourself if things gets worse call me. Ashanti: Josh I’m a Dentist not a Doctor! How would I know that I’m taking care of myself properly?! What do I do?! This is not a problem with teeth, it is a problem witn my respiratory system. Josh: Then calm down Dentist and I’ll tell you what to do! You have to take a deep breath. Inhale, exhale.. Ashanti: I’m trying okay! I’m trying! Josh: Listen to me, you have to remember what I’m gonna say okay? Ashanti: Okay Josh: Wash your hands, wash it with soap and water regularly specially after you cough, before, during and after preparing your food, before eating, after using toilet. Do you understand? Ashanti: Yes, yes Josh: Do you live with anyone? Because if you do, tell him that he must wash his hands also before and after taking care of you and please tell him to avoid unnecessary exposure to you, avoid sharinh items with you, such as eating utensils, dishes, drinks and towels. Ashanti: It’s only me in here, in my condo Josh: Then you don’t have to worry about another person. You were coughing a while ago but you didn’t cover cover your mouth I noticed. Ash, even if you don’t live with someone, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. You can flexed your elbow or use a disposable tissue and discard it after use. Do you understand me? Ashanti: Yes but Josh what if it’s really COVID? I have to work Josh. I have family to feed. Josh: If things gets worse like you can’t breath properly, call me. I’m sure that your family would understand your situation. Covid is not a joke, Ash. Ashanti: What about the reunion? Josh: I’ll take care of it so take care of yourself properly okay? I have to go now, it’s my shift already. I’ll call to monitor you but if things gets worse okay? Call me. (*fast forward* shows day 1-7 with only coughing, sneezing, can’t taste and smell and monitoring Ashanti) *7 DAYS LATER* (shows difficulty in breathing) (calls josh) Ashanti: *heavy breathing* Josh, Josh! I can’t breath properly! Josh! Josh: Oh god! I’ll call the ambulance! Hold on okay! Ashanti: faster please! (ends call) (was taken to ambulance) MORAL LESSON:
