FOUR BASIC ELECTROSURGICAL PROCEDURES

MONOPOLAR
Cutting (vaporization)
Coagulate (Latin for “to curdle”)
Fulguration (Latin for lightning) – arching (“spraying”) between
electrode and tissue to stop heavy bleeding
Desiccation (Latin to dry up) – touching the tissue to achieve
hemostasis in individual vessels
Ablation (Latin to carry away) – heats and coagulates large
volumes of tissue (e.g., liver or tumor)
Bipolar (between two poles) often used to achieve
hemostasis during brain surgery
Blend (cut and coagulate)
Vessel sealing (uses bipolar technology)

Electrical
Basic Theory

Electricity always . . .
• Seeks ground (its source)
• Seeks path of least resistance

Ligasure terpasang pada port
ligasure, warna lingkaran menjadi
warna ungu, dan tidak ada
settingan untuk ligasure dan
akan meng-adjust otomatis
terhadap hambatan jaringan.
Lingkaran akan seperti berputar
searah jarum jam ketika ligasure
di aktifasi.
Dan akan ada 2 nada beep ketika
ligasi belum sempurna.

WHY THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT?

No Feature Benefit
1 Safety REM – Return Electrode Monitoring.

2 Tissue Fect Sensing Technology. Kemampuan generator untuk bereaksi seketika (434,000/detik) terhadap
perubahan kerapatan jaringan.

4 Force Triverse. Kontrol setting power dari area steril, Valleylab mode.

5 Simultaneous coag Two pencils activating at the same time Kemampuan generator bekerja secara otomatis untuk mengaktifkan bipolar

mmHG).
