Management is mainly focused on managing a particular task or job, and making chary decision

to solve it and to attain a specific goal. Management is vital at all times, it requires an individual
to handle his problems or any difficulties, and allows him to better understand and analyze
what the problem is all about and how to solve it using alternative solutions. In this modern
era, we are experiencing struggles, challenges, and drawbacks brought to us by the prevalent
issue, the Covid pandemic. The government and organization as well as scientists and
researchers are very careful in handling the issue and to commit right actions on how to fully
solve the problem. Many engineers emphasized the importance of management, especially
when their workplace is in the enterprise. As a future Industrial Engineer, it is necessary for me
to know what management is really about, how is it useful for my profession, and to handle a
situation that requires intensive solutions to fulfill right action.

From this topic, I learned that management is important not only for career, but also to our
personal life. We might experienced it in our daily lives by simply breaking down household
chores or duties of each member of a family. After the discussion and re-reading the topic, I
erudite that management is significant for engineer managers, wherein their specialized
knowledge (the knowledge they gained from various courses after completing their higher
education school) and various resources (workforce or manpower, material, and financial
resources) are collaborated. I understand that we can apply management even in simple
situations as long as we can handle it to accomplish our objectives. I easily analyze and
understand the different functions of engineers in their field, wherein management is under
one of these functions. Through this, I learned that engineers are very flexible and adaptive in
terms of what is assigned to them. Together with these functions, I also easily learned the levels
or types of organization as well as management skills that an engineer must have. This
represents the increasing level of skills that engineer managers need to acquire. During the
discussion, I slightly struggled on conceptualizing the difference between effectiveness and
efficiency, until our professor differentiate the two cited abilities. I could say that effectiveness
is when goals are executed properly, while efficiency is better, as it symbolizes an Industrial
Engineer preventing undesirable result and doing tasks expeditiously.

This reflective essay is important for me to refresh and analyze again my significant learnings
regarding on the topic. This will serve as an excerpt of what I've learned from the first topic,
which is management. Reflective essay will reveal my actual learnings, realization, and
conceptualization regarding to the portions of topic or topic itself. Management needs a plan to
organize and evaluate adequate decision. It is significant for all industrial engineers as it will
help them to deal with other people in an organization. They control and deal communication
to every workforce personnel or manpower, which is very crucial to their profession.
Management is a skill that people, whether lettered or illiterate must appreciated, emphasized
and take seriously.
