Elvira Becerra Vásquez is a person who always dreamed of coming to Lima to continue her
studies at UNMSM, but she had to go through many challenges on her way to be able to
fulfill her goal.
The first was that her parents did not have enough resources to send her to study in Lima,
but luckily for her, her older brother had been living in Lima for a few years, so when her
brother went to visit them she told him about her plans and he agreed to bring her to live with
him. However, a few months after coming to live with him, his brother got engaged and
married, so his wife also began to live under the same roof, and from that moment his life
was not like a fairy tale, since she made life impossible for him because she didn't want her
to study.
In addition to this, he did not have enough resources to prepare in an academy so he had to
start work and in his spare time, he reviewed his school notebooks to prepare for the exam.
When the day of the exam came she was nervous, but she also felt that the exam was going
to be a piece of cake since she had studied day and night for that exam. And so it
happened, she entered and was very happy but despite being a national university she had
to support herself so she began to study and work.
In addition to that, he got into a fight with his brother's wife and had to find another place to
live.
The straw that broke the camel's back was that in the middle of her career her mother died
and she felt very bad because of that, but she remembered that her mother had always told
her that she had to get ahead and be an example for her brothers. so he had to overcome
that and continued studying until he managed to finish all the university cycles.
