Community Problem: Improper waste disposal observed at the vicinity

Vicinity: Zone 4, Brgy. San Jose Pangaraon, Nabua, Camarines Sur

Campaign Name: Proper Waste Management Movement

important to observe proper waste segregation?

1. Yes, I felt that it will be necessary to do so.


2. The improper sewage disposal can lead to many different
diseases. And it can cause flooding.
3. By organizing the people of barangay to do a compost pit
in their respective house and by putting a trash can
separating the non- biodegradable and biodegradable waste
with cover/lid.

because it can be the cause of bigger problems that may

of throwing the garbage instead of just leaving it
hanging around the vicinity of our area. It will be

1. Yes, I still segregate them because I’m fully aware


of the consequences that it can bring back to us and I
don’t want to add to the number of people that isn’t
aware of this kind of issue.

consequences are arising even without noticing it.

that’ll be able to find an alternative solutions to
solve this problem in due time

1. No, because sometimes I neglect it because I thought


I’m not the only who’ve done this before.
2. It affects my community in a way that, it causes soil
contamination and the main cause of flooding in the
area.
3. The best solution to address this problem is to engage
in recycling and upon being able to learn the importance
of proper waste management I’ll be responsible and take
course of my actions from now on.

1. Yes. It is certainly important to observe proper waste


segregation as it makes our environment free from
contaminants that would trigger the risk of health
diseases.
2. It affects my community in a way that a plague of
health illnesses and such may become rampant and could
cause a higher rate of mortality. This could break
humanity if not prevented.
3. Let's become wise on making certain decisions and bit
by bit become eco-friendly. Apply the 3Rs everyday.
Improperly waste disposal wouldn't happen if not for us
starting it, but we could also make an end to it by
doing small changes in our human nature towards the
environment.

4, I do think this could be solved. but it depends if


there would be unity that would tie us together and achieve
the same goal.

1. Yes, yes it is important because Waste segregation is


included in law because it is much easier to recycle.
Effective segregation of wastes means that less waste
goes to landfill which makes it cheaper and better for
people and the environment. It is also important to
segregate for public health.
2. From being an eyesore to releasing toxins, improper
waste disposal on any scale can create environmental
problems, health problems and even economic concerns.
3. Implementing recycling habits into your daily life is
one of the most effective ways to help lessen landfill
waste, conserve natural resources, save habitats, reduce
pollution, cut down on energy consumption, and slow down
global warming.

Conclusion:
Based from the gathered points of views from the respondents,
there is certainly no doubt at all that Improper Waste Disposal
is on of the major environmental that we encounter at our
vicinity. It is due to the ignorance or lack of awareness of
some of the residents about its important. This survey, is
definitely a way to unlock the consciousness of the citizens to
take part as we conquer and address this relevant issue for the
sake of our community. Poor waste management contributes to
climate change and air pollution, and directly affects many
ecosystems and species. Therefore, let us be responsible enough
to Eco-responsibility – “Reduce, Re-use, Recycle” and through
waste disposal procedures help keep the environment clean, but
it also makes the community's overall health standards better.
With waste being properly disposed of, our environment is
cleaner, meaning there are fewer health risks and hazards around
to affect us.

Most of the respondents are


interviewed through face-to-
face but were done with
proper health precautionary
measures, because they were
my own relatives and just a
few blocks away from our
house. But some of the
respondents are also
questioned via messenger due
to it is not possible for
live interview because they
are a bit far and for our own
safety.
