Dual Credit Courses: Can be taken at a local community college or through University Extension (UT Austin online college
program). A dual credit is a course that receive both high school and college credit. Students must get APPROVAL from
UTHS Administration PRIOR TO choosing and enrolling in a dual credit course.

• Take TSI and meet with college advisor.


• Meet with UTHS counselor to choose courses.
• Send UTHS counselor proof of course registration.
• Have official college transcript sent to UTHS.
• If approved, the completed course and grade will appear on the UTHS transcript and will be calculated into the
GPA, weighted on the 5-point scale.
• UTHS will only accept a course credit if student makes a 70% or higher.
• If the course is an EOC-related subject, the student is still required to take and pass the EOC.

Courses or Exams from Accredited Program: Students must get APPROVAL from UTHS Administration PRIOR to enrolling
in a course from an outside accredited program.

• A grade of 70% is required.


• The course and grade will appear on the UTHS transcript and be calculated into the GPA.
• If the course is an EOC-related subject, the student is still required to take and pass the EOC.
• Seniors must complete an outside credit prior to May 15.

Prerequisites: Many classes have prerequisites; therefore, students may not register for a UTHS course if the student has
not met the prerequisite (i.e., enrollment in Pre-Calculus requires completion of Algebra 2). Students must consult with the
UTHS counselor.
