• Can be saltwater or freshwater, but
usually freshwater
• Surrounded by land
• Lakes can be natural or manmade
• Larger and deeper than ponds
Ponds
• Freshwater
• Does not have a current
• Surrounded by land
• Ponds can be natural or
manmade
• Smaller and more shallow than a
lake
