Objectives of the Study:

General Objective:
At the end of 16 hours exposure in Bukidnon Provincial Hospital-Maramag, OB
ward, the student will be to acquire comprehensive knowledge regarding the client’s
present condition related to postpartum period, perform basic nursing skills and
procedures with ease and confidence and manifest positive and desirable attitude
necessary in the promotion of optimal health and prevention of illness.
Specific Objectives:
At the end of 16 hours exposure in Bukidnon Provincial Hospital-Maramag, OB
ward, the student will be able to:
Knowledge:
 Gather all relevant data accurately and completely
 Identify the possible cause of the client’s complication (preeclampsia)
 Determine the diagnosis of the client
 Formulate nursing care plans that is specific, measurable, attainable,
realistic and time-bounded helpful to patient
 Broaden their knowledge and uplift their capabilities in giving quality health
care services inside the hospital.
Skills
 Impart health teachings to client and possible to do so to modify their
lifestyle that promotes their good health.
 Give right assessment and render quality and appropriate care to
assigned patients.
 Provide holistic nursing care to the client such as therapeutic
communication, assisting ADL, and taking of vital signs
Attitude:
 Demonstrate sense of responsibility
 Be aware and understand the needs and emotions of others
 Observe ethical and cultural approach
 Build rapport to the client to develop trustworthiness with the student
nurses
 Provide a gentle and professional approach to the client for proper nursing
care
Scope and Limitation
This study covers all the pertinent data gathered in the medical records, physical
assessment, laboratory results, diagnostic results and observation of the attributes of
the patient. The proponents conducted assessments to the patient and to the patient's
significant others. While interviewing, patient's and the significant other's response were
limited. The proponents of this study aims to achieve their objectives enumerated above
by conducting the interventions which are based on the assessment findings and the
information relayed and the information relayed by the patient and significant other was
within the boundary of the student nurse with the guidance of their clinical instructors
following the physician's order and basic nursing interventions.

The limitation of this study is the limited time spent with the patient. The 2 days
duty did not give an ample time for the proponents to follow up the patient health
progress and provide further interventions for the patient's health problem. There was
also no thorough head-to-toe assessments conducted because it was excluded in the
duty task during the shift. The prenatal history of the patient have been looked into yet
the onset of the patient's preeclampsia was not known.
