What is it
1. What is the significance of meiosis?
 The significance of meiosis is for the formation of gametes,
genetic information, maintenance of chromosomes number,
crossing over and for mutation .

2. How is meiosis important to a sexually reproducing organism?


 Meiosis is important because it ensures that all organisms
produced via sexual reproduction contains the correct number
of chromosomes, it also produces genetic variation by way of
the process of recombination.
