2. Project Description
Higher education consists of the idea that through education, one can change the
world. Furthermore, the purpose of the pedagogy programs at the higher education
level is to prepare individuals with the necessary tools needed to not only thrive in the
education field, but also transform it. The next generation of professionals is emerging
and to achieve the goal of higher ed, we must transition our forward education mentality
into action. The workforce is a very competitive field and offering micro credentials and
badges offers an opportunity for students to gain and highlight the skills needed to have
a competitive edge that would evidence their professional competence.
Offering micro credentials and badges through Frontline Education will provide
students with an opportunity to grow professionally and refine these necessary 21st
century skills. Meanwhile, this would also provide the higher education community an
increased opportunity to attract prospective students, thus both increasing the number
of students applying to the program while also ensuring they receive a quality education
that is applicable to the demands of the current and future of the educational field.
What is Frontline Education?
Frontline Education is an online platform that offers management and micro credential
opportunities as part of their infrastructure solutions to promote and increase
professional development.

A project is defined as a temporary group activity designed to produce a unique product or result. A project team
often includes people who don’t usually work together – sometimes from different organizational units within the
university.
What are the benefits of Frontline Education?
• Micro credential areas can be assigned and/or chosen by student
• Administrators can track and monitor students’ progress
• Students must submit evidence of mastery, which will increase their skills
• Students are part of a learning community in which they can receive feedback
• Micro credentials increase professional development and personalized learning
• Virtual platform offers flexibility and accessibility
• Pricing is affordable for an extensive variety of content that will fit the
needs/interests of the students

opportunities that not only abide by the professional development standards, but also
accomplish the task of individualizing support for student teachers to improve instruction and
thus benefit the student body long-term.
Provide Better Access to Data
Frontline Micro-credential software will allow administrators, appraisers, and students gain
access to a variety of professional development areas and track their progress in a timely,
efficient manner.

5. Project Alternatives
Conference/Professional Development Sessions

A project is defined as a temporary group activity designed to produce a unique product or result. A project team
often includes people who don’t usually work together – sometimes from different organizational units within the
university.
Professional development sessions can be done to target collective need areas to
enhance student instruction as traditionally done.
Drawback with Alternative: The collective need area might not always benefit
every teacher in goals of improving instructional practices. Our mission as a
campus is to provide opportunities for student teachers to grow professionally to
be able to provide a higher quality education to all students in a future.
Learning Management/Coaching Sessions
Administrators, instructional leaders, and students will workshop to learn how to
utilize Frontline effectively prior to using it.
Administrators and instructional leaders can design individualized professional
development and assign it to student teachers after collecting data from coaching
sessions.
Drawback with Alternative: Designing individualized professional development
will require an immense amount of time investment which could be utilized for
more effective purposes.
6. Project Cost
For a medium sized organization, the average cost is $40 per teacher, per year.
For an undergraduate student, this would equate to approximately $160 for four
years. Therefore, it is approximately $16,000 for 100 teachers.
