Kung Hindi Mo Ako Kukunin

By Aida Campos Tiama

Translated By Cles B. Rambaud
Analysis: Feminism
This poem is about a woman blinded by love. She believes that love created the world although
her poetry is incompatible for she has the liberation of herself because she doesn’t want to him to
hear her cry. If we examine this poem carefully, She only wants to talk to her beloved at least
four times a year because the voice of her special someone is the cure to her illness but he just
ignores her. She is a woman who needs care and attention. Even though it hurts, she just puts up
with it and she only wishes to be remembered by her beloved man. And this time she freed
herself . The content of the poem shows the unfair treatment between partners with regards the
gender, It somehow shows how people are normalizing biased affection. Remember that, if you
really love someone, always put an effort to make her/his feel loved.
