Reflection on Pestalozzi’s Contribution to Education

and its significance in the development of curriculum
Introduction
After the discussion today about the contribution of Pestalozzi’s to
Education, the knowledge I gained are as follows:

 Pestalozzi desired children to learn in an unhurried manner and in
caring environment.
 Development of Heart, Mind and Hand.
 The source of knowing are objects and nature just like Rousseau.

Body Paragraphs
The thoughts Pestalozzi to Education:
 Pestalozzi sought to develop schools like Technical Vocational School
that would also nurture children’s development. His thoughts about
moral relationship between family and schools are useful today. In his
educational program he also tried to avoid teaching content and
focused on the progressive mastery of practical and useful skills.
Reflection

After the discussion and having the chance to read some research about
Pestalozzi ideas and contribution on education is TechVoc (Technical
Vocational) where the education focus on developing the skills and moral
character.

Conclusion
Pestalozzi contribution on education is to develop the human being’s moral,
mental, and physical by using the sense perception in forming vibrant
thoughts and as a future educator my role is to solely facilitate, organize
practical activities because learners discover thru their senses and they are
good at classifying and sorting objects based on their characteristics.
