Dear Sir/Madam,

I am taking this opportunity to apply for the Informatics Studies in the International
Undergraduates Program at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology in which I am
vastly interested. The degree from one of the most prestigious and respected universities in
Indonesia is my chance to broaden my knowledge and experience that will strengthen my
future career and goals, by that making it possible for me to contribute to the advancement
of technology for the greater good of the world.

I have always been captivated by how we humans are capable of making life more
accessible with a bunch of circuitry that uses ones and zeros, and how we can create a
variety of applications with it. The creation of this technology is the key for us to advance
further to the next big breakthrough. However, these ever-advancing technologies are
insignificant if the communities who were using these technologies are not capable of
improving themselves with it.

Indonesia has the biggest GDP, working population, landmass, and untapped natural
resources on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Nevertheless, even
with all of these, Indonesia is still low in other crucial aspects, such as education & literacy.
The need to improve these significant problems is not just a one nation problem but also a
problem for all developing nations. My ambition is to develop a way to boost education and
literacy by making applications for the technologies we currently have for our country and
other nations.

For me to accomplish this very ambition, I will need to find the right education for me and
after reading about the Informatics in the IUP Program offered the Sepuluh Nopember
Institute of Technology, as it immediately caught my attention as I realized that this program
is a fit for my needs for several reasons:
 
Firstly, the program covers studies that are in my interest, such as Computer science,
Computing, Structured Programming, and Software Engineering. Gaining these essential
bits of knowledge will tremendously help me dig up my true potentials and prepares me for
achieving my goals and careers.

Secondly, the presence of an international community and its diversity in this program will
help me understand more problems on a bigger global scale. One thing that could solve
something in one society may not be viable in another one; hence, the need to make a
universal solution is possible by understanding problems from people with various
backgrounds.

Thirdly, being an international program that uses the English language, this program will
also improve my English skill. English, being the Lingua Franca of the modern world, is a
necessity for spreading ideas to a bigger and more diverse audience.

Lastly, this program also offers other additional agendas such as a Summer Course,
Student Exchange, Joint Degree, and an internship program. These programs are
beneficial for my needed experience and expertise for future careers and goals.

In conclusion, it would be such a pleasure to be part of the ITS community, as I am keen on

gaining new knowledge and experiences through this IUP program. In addition, I hope to
provide my talents to this institution and proving myself as a valuable part of this
community.
