Transcultural Nursing
Reaction Paper

The webinar last time talks about how cultural nursing is really important to our profession.
Learning about the different culture of your patient is important to build rapport with the patient is also
to identify what health care needs you should do without disrespecting the culture practices of the
patient. We can’t assume our patient’s history because of their religion since it may lead to stereotyping
and being bias. That is why we are doing interviews to know what really happened with our patient why
they are seeking for health care. We are giving holistic care to our patient and our goal is the healing of
patients under our care. Healing them physically is the priority but we should also take care of their well-
being. Understanding different cultures is also important in our profession because they are possible
practices that is not aligned with the clinical culture. For example, if the patient under you care died, you
should be aware of their tradition to respect the deceased and also the family of the deceased.
