Guidelines to add support for Terminal Emulator IBM i access in UFT

One
Steps to configure the emulator and UFT:

1. Make sure that IBM i access is running under 32-bit version not 64.

2. Assuming you have an IBM configuration you will need to create a shortcut or ensure that the
file was opened with the /plugin=pcs parameter:

3. Install the EHLLAPI Enablement Tool. (If you do not have this tool, contact IBM for details on
how to acquire and install it.)

4. Open regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest


Professional\MicTest\Packages\TePackage\Terminal Emulators\Host On-Demand

a. Update the HllapiDllName attribute with the path below (assure you did step 3 and you
have this dll)
5. Open UFT and create a GUI Test, go to Tools->Options->Gui Testing ->Terminal Emulator and
choose vendor IBM and emulator Host On-Deamand and click verify.

6. Now we need to configure the emulator screen, From the same place click Open Wizard and
choose Use a preconfigured setting select HOD configuration and click next.

7. Configure the path to pcshll32.dll

8. Now you will need to change the settings to put the RED Grid over the TE text like below
9. After is done the configuration click next/finish and now you can try the Spy and check if the spy
is highlighting the right field.
