TRACER STUDY OF 2020 GAS GRADUATES OF INDANG SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, INDANG CAVITE

INTRODUCTION

The Tracer study is one of the most important elements to determine the success of the programs

that r courses the school offers. It documents the status, characteristics of employment, struggles, and

extent of applicability of skills in the current employment of the graduates. The subject Tracer study can be

minified, but common topics include questions on study process. This graduate tracer study, therefore,

delivers specifically on one of these measures. It also coincides with a number of related studies which

aimed to analyze the graduates’ performance on the labor market. Tracer study is a survey of graduates

from education institution, which takes place sometime after graduation or the end of the training. This

tracer study is conducting to determine their academic track or life after their graduated. The transition to

work, work entrance, job career, use of learned competencies l, current occupation and bonds to the

education, institution. This Tracer study a follow up Study to determine the employment status of 2020

GAS Graduates of Indang Senior High School, Indang Cavite. Its objectives one to trace the Students life

after their graduated in this course “(GAS) General Academic Strand.” Since the academic track program

produce graduates that are globally competitive and well educated in their profession. The findings of this

study are a survey of graduates from the list of batch k-12 at the Indang Senior High School Indang Cavite.

The tracer study is focus on GAS Graduates, one of the goals of this study is to track down the GAS

Graduates on their path after Senior high school program and its timely to do this tracer study.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study is focused on tracing the 2020 GAS Graduates of Indang Senior National Highschool -

High School. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions.

1. What is the status of GAS Graduates in terms of?

a) degree pursued in college;

b) employability; ad

c) entrepreneurship

2. Is there a significant relationship between the degree pursued in college and their

previous strand?

The study required to trace the Grade 12 graduated in Gas. Tracing study underwent different

processes like investigating and providing survey questionnaires. The overall procedure then provides an

output of comparison of student.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study will focus on the Tracer of 2020 Gas Graduates of INHS where researchers will find out

how many of the 2020 Gas Graduates of INHS have continued their college education and how many Gas

Graduates students have chosen to work. This study will be conducted in the town proper of Indang,

Cavite. The data gathering will start on 2021. The researchers will conduct the study at the given time and

place only. This study is limited to the gathering data from the target participants.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

1. Students – They will reflect appreciate their courses and they will pursue.

2. School – They evaluate the GAS student and might think to add more students.

3. Parents- This research will build parents awareness on the result if their child courses are good.

4. Future Researchers- This research will give them a background in our study.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Academic track- the preparation students for the most common college courses such as business

management, engineering, and the sciences

Tracer study- a survey to determine or trace the student’s life after they graduated to the academic

track they choose.

Employment- is a state of having a paid job after they graduated.

Entrepreneurship- taking risk to start a new business instead of continue studying in college.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Hartanto, etal. (2017) suggested improving the English ability to develop the English education

study program. Some of the graduates of guidance and counseling courses the terms of aspects in

integrity, professionalism, IT usage, communication, teamwork and self – development are really good, but

it still not enough in the usage of English language.

Garcia, etal. (2016) the study aimed about the improvement of programs, make the program active

to the needs of the industry, and be widen the studies to enhance the condition of knowledge and skills of

the pupil students.

Wahome, etal. (2016) the study indicated about the purpose of the research, is to give a guideline

about the tracer study graduates to adopt in the universities and other high education in east Africa. During

the survey of the respondents about their experiences, the degree study and transition in the job market

help to improve the quality and service education.

Omar, etal. (2014) the study revealed how the graduates undergo their undergraduates’ study

and how the consequence transmit to fit in the job market. In achieving these considerations, the

universities need to make a plan and research approach in contributing lesson for tracer studies.
Sharma, etal. (2014) the study showed about the increasing trend of graduates may help to get a

competitive high job market. In addition, the study discussed the challenges and policy in intervention part

which is help in the graduates to have another working position in their job markets.

Hazaymeh, etal. (2013) studied about the examiner changes of the career pattern of the

graduates in order to provide a basis of evaluation of the college of engineering and the architecture

program of La Salle University.

Nnyepe, etal. (2013) indicated that this study was to look out the career paths of the graduates

from the department of home economics education (DHEE) at university of Botswana UB. Study also

involved a survey of market demands, training needs and job that related to the course of the graduates.

Sapaat, etal. (2009) in his study revealed that the graduate’s employability we need to use data

sourced from the tracer study, a survey system from the ministry of higher education, Malaysia (MOHE).

This experiment shows the career path of the graduates if it is employed, unemployed or undetermined

situation.

Kyaw, etal (1992) analyzed the result of a tracer study among secondary graduates and post-

secondary government education as well as among completers of private skills training courses. Discuss

how tracer studies can be used to assist education and man power planning.

Almejas, et al. (2017) the finding shows the lowest overall of 3.25 which moderately enough: and

the faculty of the college of education is being provide by the university but not the physical establishment,

which means the administration is needed to prioritize the facilities and establishment.

De Castro, (2017) the study implies that most of the graduates are successfully hired locally and at

abroad, but some are only working abroad because of high standards and specious requirements.

Maderazo, (2016) the finding reveals that the most of the dentistry graduates are employed in

present time except for one that has family concerns and decided to not find a job most of the respondents

had their occupation as a dentist their department and alumni’s are recommended there in different places

and after 6 months they were decide to build a private practice.

Abela, et al. (2015) finding shows that there was an increase of usage rate for BSED and BEED

graduates. The reason why respondents change their occupation it is because of the wage and benefits.

The graduates are still unemployed because of no job opportunities sector.

Aquino, et al. (2015) the study obtains that this degree believed as a challenging profession and

being reward to have a teaching skill. Majority to pass the board exam and have teacher license and hire in

public schools at the time of the study. The professors also their first job related to their degree.
Prof. Gines, (2014) the result shows what the characteristics that need to be possess to be employed.

Also developed the employment and the level of fulfillment of the PNV graduates of 2009-2011 in terms of

the level of gratifications of the university’s services, learning environment and establishments.

Alcantara, et al. (2014) the result proves that RTU made marketable and accurately trained graduates

and prioritized jobs that is related to their courses. Their study also shows that the RTU graduates use their

skills and competencies to succeed in the competitive world. In the other hand tie-ups with the business

entities is expanded to maintain the high employability of the graduates.

Palomino, et al. (2014) the result reveals that most of graduates from batch 2008-2010 is being

employed than unemployed graduates. There was no connection their skills and expertise. However, there

was a strong relationship between the assessment of the program and expertise.

Orejana, et al. (2010) the results indicate 91% of the graduates are employed with 20% become a

superior and 4% holding a manager position. The content of the curriculum is found to be the strengths

covered by the programs to be supported by 45% of the respondents; while the main weakness of the

curriculum is the absence of operations and friability as indicated by 29% of the respondents.

Gagalang, et al. (n.d) based on the results of the study the following respondents – female trainable,

young adults, responsible style, pursue to finish the course of BS psychology, financially spur by the

parents and belong to above poverty line. Majority of the BS psychology graduate are applied in the private

institution due to the number of vacancies of position that related to their courses
Results and Decision

The researcher conducted the survey to know if there a significant relationship between the degree

pursued in college and their previous strand by 2020 GAS Graduates of INHS-SHS and to determine What

was the status of the Graduates. Through the process of gathering the information used by the several data

about the topic were gathered and finalized. Twenty-one respondents answered the questions about the

focus of the research.

It shows the career path of 2020 GAS Graduates. It reveals that the respondent’s priorities is the

college degree with 12(57.14%) while others said that they take the employability with 4(19.05%) and with

the Entrepreneurship 5(23.61%).

The result implies that most of them wanted to finish their study and also to help their parent

The table 2 revealed the courses/degree of the GAS Graduates. Most of them said they priorities the

course BSOA 3(25.00%), BS PSYCHOLOGY with 2(16.67%) and the others BS ECOLOGY, BSBA,

BSBIO, BAEL, BEE,BPED,BDVM with 1(8.33%).


The result implies that most of the respondents and the courses that they choose are not related to

their strand.

The table indicates the current employment of 2020 GAS Graduates. The respondents take the

waitress/waiter with 1(25.00%) and service crew with 1(25.00%) and the others with 2(50.00%).

The result implies that most of them the current employment is not related to their SHS strand.
FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Findings

The findings of the study show that most of the respondents take the college degree of continue in

college school with 12(57.14%) and some of their courses are not related / there is no significant

relationship to their SHS strand.

But on the other side, the remaining respondents said that they choose to have a job to help their parents

4(19.05%) and not related to their SHS strand.

Palomino, et al. (2014) the result reveals that most of graduates from batch 2008-2010 is being

employed than unemployed graduates. There was no connection their skills and expertise. However, there

was a strong relationship between the assessment of the program and expertise.

Conclusions

The student of GAS Graduates priorities is the college degree rather that employment and

entrepreneurship. And some of them choose the irrelevance courses to their SHS strand.

Recommendations
The school administration should offer or provide other courses in the school so that the students have

more choices for their college courses. The student must be wise in terms of choosing their courses and

skill for them not to fail the courses that they take.

APPENDICES
This graph shows the responses of the respondents in what are their current path and the respondents
are all college students. With 12 respondents all of them are enrolled in college.

This graph shows different courses that respondents possibly acquired in college. In 13 courses

the highest response is in Bs Psy it gets 16.7% and the rest have 8.33% with 1 vote per course.
This graph shows how many respondents undertake scholarship. Based on the response of the 7

respondents most of them are didn't have a scholarship.
