Outcome-Based Education (OBE) – The teacher provides lessons and designs learning activities and

assessment which are in line with learning outcomes of the course, whereas these learning outcomes are
being assessed through wide varieties of methods or tools of assessments may it be informative,
formative or summative assessments.

Assessment – The teacher uses methods or tools to assess student’s progress, improvement and
understandings in their learning activities whereas the teacher: provides informative assessment in a
form of summative tests or periodic tests to determine where the student did lack comprehension;
implements a formative assessment such as pre and post-test to assess if student have improved in their
learning; and provide feedback on students’ learning outcomes and understandings through asking
strategic or open questions.

Assessment of learning - As part of informative assessment, the teacher provides summative tests,
periodic tests or post tests and assesses students’ scores by utilizing item analysis to determine which
item or part of the test did the student lacks comprehension.

Assessment as learning – To monitor students’ learning progress and give feedback, the teacher usually
implements a formative assessment such as pre and post-assessment, prior to and at the end of the
discussion to assess if the students have improved their learning.

Assessment for learning – To be able to provide feedback not just on students learning outcomes but
also teachers in achieving such learning outcomes, the teacher asks strategic questions or the so-called
open questions like “How?”, “Why?”, “What if?” to assess what the learners understand and this can be
used by the teachers in revising and improve teaching strategies.

Measurement – The teacher measures how much does students learn and understanding the course and
these observations are expressed quantitatively which is commonly measured through tests and
assessments whereas each correct responses corresponds to a certain point (e.g. one point for each
correct response and no points for an incorrect one) then sum up these points to obtain student’s total
score.

Evaluation – The teacher can assign student to certain activities like journals, presentations and output
activities to evaluates how well does students understand the lesson which can be expressed through
quantitative or qualitative through setting such criteria (e.g. Content, Delivery, Originality and etc.).

Testing – The teacher determine how much does students learn on the course by providing periodic test
and summative tests.

Tests - The teachers uses tools such as periodical, summative, pre-test and post-test in observing how
much the students learn in course.
