Concept
This video would use the song Insomnia by Faithless.
We open on a shot of the moon before panning down to reveal our protagonist, the
Insomniac. He tosses and turns as the song rises, then his eyes shoot open as the
beat kicks in. After he realises he can’t sleep he sits up, rubbing his eyes. His head
then snaps towards his leg as it begins to move. His leg jerks to the edge of the bed
and suddenly he is standing. He isn’t sure what’s going on, he’s lost control of his
body.
It is revealed later in the film that he is being controlled by a mysterious character.
The Controller is forcing the Insomniac to conform to his will. After a montage of
the Insomniacs suffering he inexplicably manages to take control of first his right
arm, then his left. As he breaks free we see the Controller begin to panic, his
controller sparking and breaking. The Insomniac begins looking around, becoming
aware that he is being watched and controlled. This is when the Controllers screen
goes black and the Insomniac can finally rest, the camera panning away from him
and back to the moon.

Why am I making it?

I want to make something that is entertaining and pushes me out of my comfort
zone. I haven’t had a lot of experience with creating music videos before so I am
excited to see what I create. I want to appeal to my target audience, making
something that they in particular will enjoy.

Deadline
The deadline for this music video is the 6th of December

Where will it be aired?

I plan to release it on YouTube so that it is widely accessible to the majority of my
target audience, without any payment required.
This will help it reach more people than almost any other platform.

CONTINGENCY PLAN
My actor Oliver is going to stay over half term for a few days, so I plan to shoot this in the
evenings.

He is also free on Thursdays and Sundays so any reshoots I would do with him then in the
following weeks.

My actor for the Controller (Tim) is still in full time education so he is available most
evenings and at the weekend. I plan to shoot with him during half term in his room for the
Controller scenes. He is only a short drive away so any reshoots should be feasible.

If any of my actors cannot do the project I plan to use either my cousin Alex, my Dad or
myself for either of the two roles.
