Personal Area Network (PAN) is an interconnection of personal technology devices to

communicate over a short distance, which is less than 33 feet or 10 meters or within the
range of an individual person, typically using some form of wireless technologies. One of
these technologies is Bluetooth technology.

Radio Link Control (RCL) is a layer 2 Radio Link Protocol used in UMTS, LTE and 5G on
the Air interface. This protocol is specified by 3GPP in TS 25.322 for UMTS, TS 36.322 for
LTE and TS 38.322 for 5G New Radio (NR). RLC is located on top of the 3GPP MAC-
layer and below the PDCP-layer.

General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is designed to allow users to connect to the Internet,
and as such is an essential first step toward 3G networks for all mobile operations. It allows
packet data to be sent and received across a mobile network (GSM). GPRS can be
considered an extension to the GSM network to provide 3G services.

International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a factory installed unique serial

number that identifies each unit or line of service under GSM specifications. It is a 15 digit
number and is used on non-SIM card capable devices.

Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) is a technique where separate frequency bands are used
at the transmitter and receiver side. Because the FDD technique uses different frequency
bands for send and receive operations, the sending and receiving data signals don't
interfere with each other

Mobile technology uses a form of platform where by many transmitters have the ability to
send data at the same time on a single channel. This platform is called Code-division
multiple access (CDMA). This platform allows many users to make use of single
frequencies because it restricts the likelihood of interference of frequencies from two or
more sources. Through many years, this channel has evolved. The uses of mobile
technology are becoming diverse and is gradually replacing some similar sources in the
market that are also used for communication. The mobile technology has improved from a
simple device used for phone call and messaging into a multi-tasking device used for
instant messaging tool, GPS navigation, internet browsing, gaming, picture/ video taking
tool and more.
