1. Read the following text carefully.

Katmandu – the long way


A holiday in Katmandu sounded great – but overland? And in a month?
We sent journalist Nick Jones to see if it was really possible.

“I liked the idea. I always wanted to go to Nepal and the Newspaper was going to
give me a month – fantastic! But then they told me: Most of the holiday wasn’t in
Katmandu at all. It was in an old Ford lorry. My reward was going to be five days in
the capital of Nepal before flying back to London.
When I saw the lorry, things didn’t get any better. Until I went inside. There were
beds, a fridge, a sofa and even a television. I cheered up immediately.
And as far as the journey is concerned, it was incredible! We left London planning
to get to Turkey as fast as possible and there the real journey began. Incredible
mountains, vast deserts and everywhere wonderful people. It was the holiday of a
lifetime.
But the very best thing was Katmandu. After three weeks on the road, the
Katmandu Guest House was like a dream. Even compared to our lorry…
