Target: First semester of eleven grader students.

Objective of this program: In the end of this program, students will be able to give a suggestion, opinion, and factual information in order to
have a better understanding in writing an exposition text.
The program has 5 units, they are:
A. Unit 1: Giving a suggestion
KD 3.1 SMA kelas XI
 Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan
memberi dan meminta informasi terkait saran dan tawaran, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan
should, can).
Learning Objective: Students will be able to make a suggestion in relation with school environment in spoken or written text.
Indicators of Achievement:
Students w.b.a.t.
1. Identify common words used in giving suggestion about school environment.
2. Do a role play based on the dialog provided about school environment.
3. Give suggestion to their partner about school environment in a spoken or written text.

B. Unit 2: Giving an opinion

 Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan
memberi dan meminta informasi terkait pendapat dan pikiran, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan I
think, I suppose, in my opinion).
Learning Objective: Students will be able to give their opinions following with the reasons why people should agree with them in
particular issue in spoken or written text.
Indicators of Achievement:
Students w.b.a.t.
1. Identify opinions and facts in an argumentative text related to health.
2. Identify common words in expressing an opinion.
3. Identify sentences that support the opinion.
4. Identify proper sentence structure for making an opinion along with supporting facts.
5. Give opinions in a particular situation along with supporting facts.
6. Communicate with other properly by adding their opinions along with supporting facts.

C. Unit 3: Writing inductively or deductively

KD 3.5 SMA kelas XI
 Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks interaksi transaksional lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan
memberi dan meminta informasi terkait keadaan /tindakan/ kegiatan/ kejadian tanpa perlu menyebutkan pelakunya dalam teks ilmiah,
sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya (Perhatikan unsur kebahasaan passive voice).
Learning Objective: Students will be able to make a news report (150 words) about global issues related to education by using 5W+1H
components.
Indicators of Achievement:
Students w.b.a.t.
1. Identify the 5W+1H components in news report article.
2. Reorganize jumbled news report sentences.
3. Identify proper sentence structure for news report.
4. Represent news report presented by announcers.
5. Formulate sentences to describe features of events to be reported based on given pictures.
6. Write up a complete news report to a given picture of event using 5W+1H components.

E. Unit 5: Writing an Analytical Exposition Text


KD 3.4 SMA kelas XI
 Membedakan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan beberapa teks eksposisi analitis lisan dan tulis dengan memberi dan
meminta informasi terkait isu aktual, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya.
Learning Objective: Students will be able to produce an analytical exposition text which includes arguments that support their opinion in
particular issue in about 150 – 200 words.
Indicators of Achievements:
Students w.b.a.t.
1. Identify the important information provided in a given exposition text.
2. Identify each supporting detail for each main idea of exposition text.
3. Rearrange jumbled sentences into a good paragraph of exposition text.
4. Produce an analytical exposition text based on particular issues given.
5. Retell their exposition text in front of the class without looking at their work.
