 Devise for the Succession was the plan made by Edward and Northumberland.
 When Edward died, Lady Jane Grey would take over the throne, not Mary, the true heir.
 Edward and Northumberland were both protestant and did not want the Catholic Mary on
the throne.
 Mary was angry at this and raised an army to attack London. This shows she was a strong
leader even though she was a woman.
 Many protestants also supported Mary.
 Lady Jane Grey was weak, and Mary had gathered masses of support.
 The people respected that the Tudors were the family of English royalty and therefore Mary
should be queen not Lady Jane Grey.
