FOUNDER's MESSAGE
On behalf of the team of UFLS, I would like to welcome you all
in this little journey of our hard work, that we undertook
amidst the pandemic hitting us. Our organisation is a space of
young minds coming together to voice their thoughts,
opinions, and ideas in the realm of law and other
contemporary issues that the nations face. It nurtures an
expansive niche of young students, academicians, and
professionals who work closely and promotes critical
thinking and extensive knowledge. Over the last few months,
our team has certainly grown, and it includes a range of
Mr Shantam Patil
skilled professionals, both from domestically and
Founder & CEO
internationally.
Given the difficult times that the world is still going through, we have aimed in spreading
our resources and expertise by providing legal help and aid utilizing providing support in
every way possible in the administration of justice. We at UFLS consider it our utmost duty
to do our best to fulfil our objectives as we believe that we have the power to be the
change-makers in this contemporary world. We have the utmost privilege to have our
honorary and advisory board, exceptional people who have made a stellar mark in their
respective fields. The team of UFLS and I are extremely thankful to every member of the
honorary board and the advisory board, to whom we look up to as our mentors and source
of guidance. Without their constant support and supervision, this venture would not have
been possible. The members of the UFLS are highly motivated young leaders in
themselves, who are striving to do the best for the organisation and learn themselves and
from one other. I would congratulate each member for their contribution to making this a
success. I’m very grateful to my parents, friends, and many other voices of support and
encouragement, who have made UFLS what it is today. We stand united in our perspective
and actions, and we are only striving to make it an even better community in the future. I
started the venture now known as the United Forum for Legal Studies in the period of
Covid-19. And it is a matter of honour and pride for me that we have people from all over
the globe and background in this short period. We are working very hard to achieve our
objectives for which we have started UFLS. We are also providing legal aid in this
pandemic time for people who do not have access and means to get justice. For deciding
the name UFLS, we took fifteen days. And now we are united by every means and
perspective. I am thankful to my team, members of the honorary and advisory board, and
my family and friends.

03

nature enables us to forge meaningful connections with the
broader public and thinkers outside conventional academic
spaces. UFLS believes in strengthening intercultural
dialogues between scholars and writers worldwide on
issues affecting the contemporary world.

04
OBJECTIVES

PAST AND FUTURE
The UFLS is a platform that aims to connect legal professionals, academicians, law
enthusiasts, and young students and encourage them to hone their researching,
expressive abilities, and overall development.

The team of UFLS with their dedication organised the first webinar this year on 18th

Previous work and future planning...

October 2020. The virtual discussion took place between Mr Nitesh Rana and IPS Arif
Sheikh and was moderated by Srishti. It discussed the different aspects of the NDPS Act
and its specifications. The webinar focused on developing a better understanding of the
extremely contemporary issue that was very much talked about, and it aimed at
disclosing multiple intricacies of it. It was an extremely successful event, with major
participation from young law students. The recorded version of the webinar can be found
on our website page and YouTube.

One of the very utmost objectives of the UFLS is encouraging young students and
academicians in expressing their thoughts, ideas and views on the current issues and
help in instilling thoughtfulness and creativity. This is majorly achieved by engaging
them in writing various pieces like article writing, case summaries, and multiple
authentic writes up pieces have been published on the website, which ranges from (-
check out our publications). The team of UFLS aims to inculcate basic research skills and
promote distinct creativeness in every person.

Over the course of its journey, UFLS has offered internships to young students who have
shown an interest in acquainting with our organisation and work on their researching,
writing, and speaking skills. With umpteen students' support over these months, the
UFLS has witnessed brilliantly talented students and has closely worked in encouraging
them with their abilities. Their tasks majorly include tackling the deadline as per their
respective boards.

The hardships of Covid 19 were faced by one and by all. Lending a voice in supporting
people around during these tough times, the UFLS has launched its free legal portal to
provide legal advice and aid to everyone in need.

We are working in different new formats that involve new pictorial and video type
representation. Podcasts are also on the way.

23
UFLS AS SOCIETY
The UFLS is on the verge of registering as a co-operative society. Cooperatives are
based on self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity.
In their founders' tradition, cooperative members believe in the ethical values of
honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others. Since Cooperatives
are democratic organisations controlled by their members, who actively
participate in setting their policies and making decisions. Men and women serving
as elected representatives are accountable to the membership. In primary
cooperatives, members have equal voting rights (one member, one vote) and
cooperatives at other levels are also organised democratically.

Cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through

policies approved by their members.

Members contribute equitably to and democratically control, the capital of their

cooperatives. At least part of that capital is usually the common property of the
cooperative. Members usually receive limited compensation, if any, on capital
subscribed as a condition of membership. Members allocate surpluses for any or all
of the following purposes: developing their cooperative, possibly by setting up
reserves, part of which at least would be indivisible; benefiting members in
proportion to their transactions with the cooperative; supporting other activities
approved by the membership.

SECRETARIAT
As per page 22 of the prospectus, which discusses the Apportionment of the
organisation, Secretary plays an important role in the whole working structure. This
designation also holds the power to respond on behalf of C.E.O. Therefore a proper
substitution of this powerful designation is necessary.

interval of 6 months. Each and every member of a cooperative society is eligible to apply
for elections. Similarly, each and every person associated with the United Forum For
Legal Studies are eligible to put his/her valuable vote to the deserving candidate. To

simplifies the whole election process. The entire election process is performed under
the supervision of respected C.E.O. UFLS has always promoted ethical and professional
atmosphere in every field and nurture the same in elections too.

Currently, this position is griped by Mr Vinayak Tiwari. He was rightfully elected in

the very first election held on 7th October 2020.
He is currently pursuing B.Sc. in Shipbuilding and repair
from College of Ship Technology, Kerala under Indian
Maritime University. Despite being from the Maritime
industry, his Web Development passion has landed him in
United Forum For Legal Studies. He joined as a Graphic

as per his interest and adaptation. His technicalities
succoured in hosting the first webinar of UFLS on 18th
October 2020. His cordial and diplomatic behaviour has
created excellent aura and flexibility in the working
structure. His lawful family background has encouraged
him for his workings in UFLS. His assistance will make
Maritime Laws by the International Maritime
Organisation, more accessible to you. He will continue to
present his sensational work with this dedication as he
believes in "progress not perfections" because progress is
the key to perfection. We will have more from him in the
future as lots of things are lined up for you. Mr Vinayak Tiwari

Web Development Team
Web development and web design share many commonalities, but they differ in some
key areas. Web design deals with the front-end of a website, concerning itself with the
appearance and user experience. On the other hand, Web development deals with
building technical front-end and/or back-end code that informs site function. Web
developers may work exclusively on front-end code, back-end code, or both, and many
modern jobs also require overlap into web design. This board furnishes the development
of website and posting of the content on the website.
