Dr VISHWANATH KARAD MIT WORLD PEACE UNIVERSITY, PUNE, MERIT SCHOLARSHIP POLICY FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22

Objective: Merit scholarships are proposed to reward and motivate meritorious students with financial assistance and to evaluate merit on the basis of their academic records or their performance in proposed national level tests.

The following 6 catogories of Merit Scholarships are proposed :

1. Dr Vishwanath Karad 100% Merit Scholarship the total duration of the program with condition to maintain the consistent academic quality through out the program with expected discipline norms of the University and with no backlogs. Number
Of Scholarships are limited to 5% of the approved intake for each program.

2. 100% MIT-WPU Merit Scholarship: This is applicable to only for the First Year of any program. No Of Scholarships are limited to 3% of approved intake for each program.

3. 75% Merit Scholarship : This is applicable to only for the First Year of any program. No Of Scholarships are limited to 5% of approved intake of each program.

4. 50% Merit Scholarship : This is applicable to only for the First Year of any program. No Of Scholarships are limited to 7% of approved intake of each program. (10% of approved intake to only B Tech programs of Group B &C)

5. 25% Merit Scholarship : This is applicable to only for the First Year of any program. No Of Scholarships are limited to 10% of approved intake of each program.

6. 10% Merit Scholarship : This is applicable to only for the First Year of any program. No Of Scholarships are limited to 10% of approved intake of each program.(Applicable to only B Tech programs of Group B and C)

Other Scholarships
Any student from any School/ College/ University of MAEER Group who completes Class 10/Class12/Graduation and takes admission in MIT-WPU without any break of Academic Year would be eligible

for scholarship of 10% of fees for the first year of the Program provided he/ she scores minimum of 60% marks/Grade in the qualifying examination.

The candidates admitted directly through AICTE under PMSSS, will have to pay international study tour cost component, either at the time of admission or before the tour, if he/ she wishes to go for
international study tour. This international study tour shall be completely optional for students admitted under the PMSSS quota.Also, the candidate shall apply for online scholarship under the said scheme

and shall be granted the scholarship/ fee concession only for the amount that is equal to the difference between total fee and the amount reimbursed from AICTE which shall be applicable for the entire
duration of the program.

Wards of personnel working in or retired from Defense Services / Para-military services would be given 25% Scholarship for Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO’s), 15% for Junior Commissioned

Officers (JCO’s) and 10% for Senior Commissioned Officers upto the rank of Lt. Col. (SCO’s). Applicable for first year only.

For School of Public Policy, we offer “Hon’ble Sri. T N Seshan Scholarship”. The wards of In-Service Public Servants with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Government Service would be given a

scholarship of 15% in the Program Fee.

Students with 40% and higher disability will be given scholarship up to 40% of fees depending upon disability and it must be certified by a medical authority specified by the government. (For disability

certificate format, please refer to Appendix ‘A’). UGC has approved 3% reservation in admission for differently abled students.

F Scholarship/ Fee concession for GOI Students: (seats allocated through Central Seat Allocation Board for North-Eastern States and Union Territories [CSAB NEUT] to be conducted by NIT)

F. 1 Scholarship / Fee Concession equal to 50% amount of the total fee will be granted for the entire program duration subject to good behavior, discipline and passing in University examinations.

F. 2 These students would not be eligible for any other scholarship other than that under sports or those covered under Para 4 & 5 above (Rank holder or Elite sportsman).

F. 3 Provided that the student progresses in the next level without any break / backlog / failure.

G Scholarship/ Fee concession for J & K Students: (For Candidates Seeking Admission under J & K Migrant Quota)
Only ‘One Seat’ per division of 60, will be allotted based on merit to a candidate, eligible for seeking admission under J & K migrant quota, which would be over and above the regular approved intake for

G.2 Scholarship / Fee Concession equal to 50% amount of the fee will be granted for the entire program duration subject to good behavior, discipline and passing in University examinations.

G.3 These students would not be eligible for any other scholarship other than that under sports or those covered under Para 4 & 5 above (Rank holder or Elite sportsman).

No two scholarships would be given concurrently except the scholarship for the children of faculty / staff or for PPC programs. In any case, if the total amount of scholarship for any student exceeds
75% of fees; then the scholarship for children of faculty / staff will not be applicable concurrently.

Discipline – Student(s) must maintain good conduct, behavior, and discipline. Any disciplinary action/ written warning/ misconduct by any student holding any scholarship will lead to forfeiture of
scholarship for ongoing and/or subsequent years’ subject to recommendations of the discipline committee.
