House of Representatives 1122 Longworth HOB Washington, DC 20515 Re: | Warning - Impending War over Taiwan Dear Mr, Burchett: Lam friend of one of your college friends, March Chadwick, here in Knoxville, I writing to warn you of a very dangerous situation that currently faces the United States ‘The United States is currently meddling in the Chinese civil war by providing military support to Taiwan, ‘We have been doing so ever since 1949, when the United States set up @ mercenary army in Shanghai, to oppose the Communist army, led by Mao Tse-tung, ‘As a student of history, I can assure you that our mercenary army in Shanghai in 149 had no popular support in China. When Mao's forces entered the city, our amy simply ran away ~- and retreated to Taiwan -- with China's gold reserves. ‘The United States thus repeated the same strategic error that we committed in Afghanistan (when our army ran away in 2021); Vietnam (when our army ran away in 1975); and Iraq (when our army ran away in 2016). It is important to recognize that Taiwan is nota country. It is a part of China occupied by the opposing forces in China's civil war. Few countries on the planet recognize Taiwan, and only the United States is stupid enough to sell weapons to Taiwan. Remember, China is four times larger than the United States and far wealthier. In the United States, we think nothing of this history. However, in China, this matter is, extremely important. Taiwan is the both the last European colony in China and occupied by the opposing side in the Chinese civil war, which continues to be fought. ‘The United States needs to immediately stop providing military support to Taiwan, and preferably, tender an immediate apology to the Chinese.Honorable Tim Burchett October 23, 2021 If we don't, the Chine likely embargo the United States, to be a world power -- if our nation are going to target our currency in about four to six years, and s part of the war. If this happens, the United States will cease vives as a political entity at all. The United States is politically, historically and morally wrong on Taiwan.
