Many people think modern communication technology is having some negative effects
on social relationships. Do you agree or disagree?

Do you agree or disagree with this view?

It has been argued that cutting-edge communication technology has a negative impact
on an individual's social bonds. I agree since this could lead to misunderstandings, self-
isolation, and a loss of the value of true friendship. Text messaging and online talking,
for example, have had negative consequences on a person's social relationships. To
begin with, this can lead to a miscommunication between two persons. For example, if
the sender sends a basic text message, the recipient may not fully comprehend what he
reads because the message lacks emotion or tone, and the recipient cannot see the
sender's facial reaction. As a result, the message will be misinterpreted, resulting in a
misunderstanding. People can easily create online acquaintances via social networks
such as Facebook or Twitter since communication systems provide unlimited access to
the outside world. As a result, the need to make acquaintances in the actual world,
which sometimes takes time, effort, and patience, will be eliminated. Visual friends, on
the other hand, are highly unreliable and so unlikely to offer us assistance and comfort
in times of need, unlike friends we create via regular interaction. We can't tell them our
secrets or expect them to share our joys and sorrows. Without someone we can rely on,
life would become pretty uninteresting. Finally, just as every coin has two sides, there
are some negative repercussions of modern communication-based relationships, as
well as some positive aspects. As a result, I agree in part with the statement that online
communication has solely negative effects on relationships.
