Abstract – Licensure examination is a regulatory
mechanism to practice profession in the Philippines.
The effectiveness of a curriculum is measured by
different factors and this includes the result of
licensure examinations. Schools usually developed
intervention and remediation practices to further
increase the number of passers in a certain licensure
examination. An electronics engineering graduate
need to take the electronics engineering licensure
examination before he/she can practice as an
electronics engineer. The examination is conducted
by the Board of Electronics Engineering under the
supervision of the Philippine Professional Regulation
Commission.

I. INTRODUCTION
An electronics engineering graduate need to
take the electronics engineering licensure examination
before he/she can practice as an electronics engineer.
The examination is conducted by the Board of
Electronics Engineering under the supervision of the
Philippine Professional Regulation Commission. he

year. The ECE Laws and each of these laws consist of

II. TECHNICAL STANDARDS AND CODES
• REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9292
SEC. 6. Composition of the Board. -
There is hereby created a Professional
Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering,
hereinafter referred to as the Board, under the
administrative control and supervision of the
Professional Regulation Commission,
hereinafter referred to as the Commission,
composed of a chairman and two (2) members
who shall be appointed by the President of the
Philippines from the three (3) recommended
per position chosen and ranked by the
Commission, which recommended shall in turn
be chosen from the five (5) nominees for each
position submitted by the accredited
professional organization, in accordance with
rules and regulations presently in existence or
that may be promulgated for such purpose.
SEC. 7. Powers and Functions of the Board. –
The Board is vested with the authority to:
(a) Administer/Implement the provisions of this Act;
(b) Administer oaths in connection with the
administration of this Act;
(c) Adopt an official seal of the Board;
(d) Issue, suspend or revoke Certificates of Registration
and accordingly the Professional Identification Cards of
Professional Electronics Engineers, Electronics
Engineers or Electronics Technicians, or otherwise
suspend the holder thereof from the practice of his/her
profession, for any justifiable cause and after due
process;
(e) Maintain a roster of Professional Electronics
Engineers, Electronics Engineers and Electronics
Technicians;
(f) Issue, suspend and/or cancel special permits to foreign
Professional Electronics Engineers, Electronics
Engineers or Electronics Technicians in accordance with
the provisions of this Act;
(g) Prescribe, amend or revise the requirements for
licensing of Professional Electronics Engineers, and
prepare, adopt and issue the syllabi of the subjects for the
licensure examination for Electronics Engineers and
Electronics Technicians, and prepare the questions
therefore, in strict conformance with the scope of the
syllabi;
(h) Adopt a program for the full computerization of the
licensure examination;
(i) Grant registration without examination, subject to
review and approval by the Commission, in accordance
with the provisions of this Act;
(j) Study, examine and recommend, in coordination with
the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering and
(TESDA), and in consultation with other concerned Electronics Technician professions in the Philippines,
government entities and the accredited professional and whenever necessary, exercise the powers conferred
organization, the essential requirements as to curricula by this and other Acts, and adopt such measures as may

V. CPD UNITS
The CPD Act lapsed into Law on July 21, 2016
and it took effect on August 16, 2016.
The implementation of R.A. No. 10912 started on March
15, 2017, upon the effectivity of Resolution No. 1032 or
the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of R.A.
No. 10912.
CPD Credit Units refer to the value of an amount of
learning achieved from formal, informal or non-formal
learning including professional work experience wherein
credit units can be accumulated to predetermined levels
for the award of a qualification.
The CPD is hereby made as mandatory requirement in
the renewal of the Professional Identification Cards
(PICs) of all registered and licensed professionals under
the regulation of the Commission.
The Commission recognized the need to address issues
and concerns by revisiting the pertinent provision of the
IRR of the CPD Act of 2016 and as a result of the
consultations with the stakeholders, the Commission
finds it necessary to provide a transition period that will
enable the Commission and stakeholders to complete
antecedent requirements for the efficient implementation
of the provisions of the CPD Act of 2016. Thus, The
Commission issued Resolution No. 2019-1146, entitled
“Amending Relevant Provisions of Resolution No. 1032
(s. 2017) otherwise known as the “Implementing Rules
and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 10912.

The practice of electronics engineering relates
to the development and application of the electronics
engineering science and technology in the field of
consultation, design, construction and installation,
inspection, appraisal and acceptance, operations,
maintenance, research and development, education and
manufacturing. According to RA 9292, licensed
professional electronics engineer are authorized to render
engineering consultation services, design services related
to electronics. Also, registered electronics engineers can
take charge or supervise electronics construction,
installation and operation. Therefore, only electronic
engineers with valid certificate of registration and a valid
professional identification card are qualified to perform
the work of a Professional Electronics Engineer
Therefore, RA 9292 is an act providing for a more
responsive and comprehensive regulation for the
registration, licensing and practice of professional
electronics engineers, electronics engineers and
electronics technicians, repealing republic act no. 5734,
otherwise known as the "Electronics and
Communications Engineering Act of the Philippines",
and for other purposes In this written report it consists of
