A QUALITY OF A GOOD STEWARDS OF GOD

(1 THESSALONIANS 2: 1 – 12)

Stewardships – Is to manage something on someone’s behalf. Whether a

family member, friend, church mates, or if anyone ask you to watch for
something, then you’re stewarding – managing – whatever they entrusted you to
care.

INTRODUCTION:
 Apostle Paul is one of the steward of Christ and steward of the Gospel. He
preached the word of God in every country especially in Thessalonians. We
are also steward of Christ as we take care, faithful and trusted us on what
he gave to us
(1 Peter 4: 10). And today what are the qualities of a good stewards of God
can be seen in Apostle Paul that we can imitate.

What are the qualities of a Good Steward?

1. Responsible (v2 – 5)
 We need to become responsible in terms :
 Sharing the gospel (v2)
 God trusted us to share his words for everyone dahil hindi
lamang tayo pinagkatiwalaan sa ibang bagay ,pinakatiwalaan
niya rin tayo sa pangangaral ng kaniyang salita. (Mark 16: 15)
 Paul is one of the steward of Christ regarding in sharing the
gospels. (v5)
 To preach God’s true message not come from delusion,
impure motives, trickery (v3)
 We are responsible to preach the true God’s message
(accurately, based on the truth) dahil pinagkatiwalaan tayo ng
Panginoon.
 Since Paul is faithful to God, he will also faithful on what he
preach. ( Galatians 1: 11- 12)
 To please God not to please people (v4).
 Remember that it is God we serve and not people. Kaya kung ano
man ang ating ginagawa ay, ginagawa natin ito sa Panginoon at
hindi lamang para sa tao.
  Showing our true motives (v5)
 Paul motives is to preach the word of God to the people ng
walang hinihinging kapalit. Hindi sila nangaral para
samantalahin sila, nangaral sila para sila’y maniwala.

2. Your Personality (v6 – 8)

 What are those personality that can be emulate to be a good
steward?
 Humility (v6)
 As we become steward of God we should not put in our mind
that we are more superior over others, but always show our
humility to GOD.
 Caring (v7)
 A good steward of God must be careful for others. Huwag natin ,
isipin lagi ang kapakanan natinn bagkus isipin din natin ang
kapakanan ng iba.
 Si Apostol Paul na bilang isang linkod at tagapangasiwa ng salita
ng Diyos, hindi niya lamang iniisip ang kaniyang sarili kung ano
ang mangyayari sa kaniya, subalit mas iniisip niya ang
kapakanan ng ibang tao kapag walang salita ng Diyos sa buhay
nila.
 Deep Affection and Sacrifice (v8)
 Of course, hindi mawawala sa pagiging “ Good Steward” ang
mapagahal at pagsasakripisyo sa iba.
 Hindi nawawala sa katangian ng isang mabuting Steward ang
mapagmahal at mapagsakripisyo sa kapwa. As he said on
verse 10, “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted
to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as
well”.
 He sacrificed all of his time, buong buhay niya sa Pangioon,
tiniis niya ang lahat to share and to teach the gospel and
upang gampanin niya ang tungkulin niya bilang
“tagapangasiwa” nang salita ng Panginoon

3. Sacrificial Hardwork (v9 – 10)

 A good stewards of God must become hardworking and
sacrifice his life, time, or anything else that he/she have. (v9)
 Paul is one of the example of being “ Sacrificial work”. He endure
hardship in order to preach the gospel, he worked long hours into
the night so that he could preach and teach the gospel at upang
hindi rin sila maging pabigat sa iba.
(2 Thessalonians 3:7–8)
  We need to become holy, righteous and blameless as we want to
become a good and faithful steward. ( V10)

4. Like a Father ( V11 – 12 )

 A good steward is needs to be like a father:
 Pinapalakas ang Loob
 Pinapayuhan
 Urging to live a lives worthy of God.

CONCLUSION:
A qualities of being a good steward is to become responsible
on what he trusted to us, to show our true colors ( personality),
being a sacrificial hardwork, and to be like a father where in their
goal is to encourage, to comfort, and to urge them to live a lives
worthy of God.
