JotForm Brief

The first condition on each page triggers when you reach this question, which asks if there are any features on
the track:

If people answer ‘Ja’ (= ‘Yes’), this question shows, which asks who the featuring artists are:

And, also, one which asks what type of feature we are talking about:

So, this is a ‘SHOW / HIDE FIELD’ condition:

If people then in the ‘Hvilken type feature?’ question answer ‘Nogle er standard, andre er ligestillede’ (= ‘Some
are standard, some are not’), this question pops up, which asks for an elaboration:

I.e., yet another ‘SHOW / HIDE FIELD’ condition:

It follows from the above that if people answered ‘Nej’ (= No) to the initial feature question, the form jumps to
the question that asks ‘Hvad er trackets titel?’ (= ‘What is the title of the track?’).
1
The next condition appears when you get to the question ‘Har tracket en ISRC-kode?’ (‘Does the track have an
ISRC code?’:

If people answer ‘Ja’ (= ‘Yes’), this question pops up (i.e., another ‘SHOW / HIDE FIELD’ condition), which
asks what the ISRC code is:

If the answer was ‘Nej’ (= ‘No’), the form naturally jumps to ‘Angiv genre’ (= ‘Specify genre’).

The next conditions have to do with transferring previously specified information between tracks for the
following three input tables:

1- ‘Komponist / Tekstforfatter’ (= ‘Composer / Writer’)

2- ‘Vokalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering’ (= ‘Vocalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering’)
3- ‘Øvrige medvirkende’ (= ‘Other contributors’)

The way I have set this is up is that before the above sections, I ask (ex. for Track 3):

This basically states: ”Composers and Writers are the same on Track 3 as on…”. If people then choose for
instance ‘Track 2’. The table for Track 3 will be prepopulated with the data that was filled in for Track 2 (or
Track 1 if this was chosen).

If people choose ‘N/A’, they will have a blank table with a dropdown menu in the ‘Rolle’ (=’Role’) column. As
JotForm (at least to my knowledge) does NOT allow for prepopulating data from dropdown column to
dropdown column but DOES allow for prepopulating from dropdown to textbox, I have made two tables for
each of the ‘Komponist / Tekstforfatter’ and ‘Vokalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering’ questions that eacg have
predefined roles: one with a dropdown menu in the first column and one with textboxes in the first column.

2
Below is a screenshot of the two different tables from the ‘BUILD’ section. To make them recognizable when
setting up conditions, the one that only includes text boxes has no full stop at the end of the parenthesis, ex.
“(Track 3)” whereas the one with the dropdown column does have a full stop, ex. “(Track 3.)”:

If people choose N/A, the table with the dropdown menu will show and the one with textboxes will be hid. If
people choose to prepopulate from a previous track, the dropdown table will remain hid. Here’s the ‘SHOW /
HIDE FIELD’ condition for the ‘Vokalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering section’:

3
Now, we have to set up the conditions that prepopulate all the fields of the tables. Here’s an example of the
condition, I have used to do this, namely an ‘UPDATE / CALCULATE FIELD’ condition

Such a condition has to be made for all field in the tables for each of the different track options in the question
(i.e.. track 1, 2, 3 for page 4; track 1-4 for track 5; track 1-14 for track 15, etc.). It is important that it says ‘A-Z’
in the calculation field rather than numbers. As evident, the above condition includes two IF statements. The top
one indicates that the ‘Vokalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering’ people are the same for Track 3 as for Track 2.
The second IF statement states that the table WITH the full stop (cf. earlier instructions) was filled. This
indicates that the respondent - when filling in the same information for Track 2 - chose N/A and used the
dropdown menu to fill in the information rather than prepopulating from Track 1.

4
Conversely, the below screenshot depicts a scenario where the respondent chose to prepopulate from a previous
track as the table that ‘Is filled’ is the one WITHOUT the full stop.

That is, for both ‘Komponist / Tekstforfatter’ and the ‘Vokalist / Producer / Mixer / Mastering’ tables TWO
conditions is to be set up for all fields for each of the different track options: one where the table with a full stop
is filled (i.e., the dropdown table triggered by the N/A scenario), and one where the table without the full stop is
filled (the only text boxes table triggered by the prepopulation scenario).

Because the ‘Øvrige medvirkende’ table only includes text boxes, only one condition per field per track option
is to be set up for this table.

The final type of condition that needs to be set up is a ‘SKIP TO’ condition. Once the tables have been filled in,
the form asks: ‘Er der flere tracks forbundet med releasen?’ (= ‘Are there any more tracks associated with the
5
release?’). If the respondent answers ‘Nej’ (= ‘No’), he/she needs to be taken to the last page of the form, which
just says “Tak for metadata” (= “Thank you for metadata”).

If the respondent answers ‘Ja’ (= ‘Yes), he/she naturally continues to the next track/page. Of course, this last
condition is not applicable to the last page (#15).

As indicated, the task is to implement the above on pages 4-15 (12 pages out of the 15 total). Pages 1-3 should
be all set.

Please reach out if you have any clarifying questions.

Best,

Frederik
