MYP1 Summative:

You are planning to sell brownies in a bake sale at your school to raise some money for a
low-cost public school. The profit you make will be used to sponsor stationery items for students
in that school.

You need to decide the price for your brownies at which you will make profit. You obviously want
to maximize your profit but can’t price the brownies at a very high price either.

You are selling brownies but be mindful that the canteen already has brownies which are priced
at 150 per piece. Moreover, not many students bring cash to school, a lot of them bring packed
lunches from home.

You also need to decide the time at which you will sell them. You can either sell them during the
short break (10:30 - 10:45 am) or long break (01:00-01:30 pm). PYP has their short break
separately from MYP, but their long break is together.

These are the cost calculations for your brownies.

e) Comment on the degree of accuracy of your solution.
