Orbital kinetic bombardment is contributing to the growth of cocks across North End. Starship
surveys revealed that the radiation had exceeded the recommended oscillatory limits, just
before the penile contraction occurred. Spunky, the local fella responsible for 9/11, furiously
wanking off to midgets shitting dildos (these ejaculated millions of liters), stupidly decided to ban the consumption of deez-

Meanwhile, back up in yo ass with the resurrection foretold by Gandalf O'Reilly, "Radiation quickens unto itself." Now...
masturbating stealthily without remorse, our slaves built OSHA. Soon refugees stumbled upon a mystic tome that foretold
the the VAGINA EMPIRE was doomed to failure.

Nevertheless, the starship Buttenterprise completed stalliones Protocol 13-0157, ensuring penile supremacy. Elsewhere,
milkshakes brought rage to Kirtaner. Spardot sniffed dank for cannabis farms, attempting suicide. Fortunately, since
buttholes excrete salamanders, their exhumation efforts bore fetid sashimi balls unto Martians. Finally, war was beginning
to end the conflict between lemmings and sgnimmel; raged minutes of time-dilated chrono-units.

Incredibly, a fart erupted, causing hemorrhoids which combust flammable vapors to thousands of degrees. Meanwhile,

The archaic dwarven enthusiasmos didn't realize the temporal sycophant principle. Nevertheless, the desire to restore
Soviet practices doomed proletarians. No words withheld from the atmosphere, meanwhile the drip dropped big drizzles

What are you guys reading right now?

Brandon Sanderson just released the third and final book of his Reckoners trilogy, and it was fantastic. Where are all the
Sanderson fans in here? It was this board that told me to read his shit, and now that I do, nobody ever will talk about them
with me lol

Now starting Altered Carbon. Netflix is making a show based on it, and I like reading books that have adaptions impending
so I can compare them later.

Aleph and other stories by Borges. Only a few stories deep but I love it already, feels like
Magical Realism brushing on the fringes of Cosmic Horror at parts.

also finished Demons By Daylight and Scared Stuff by Ramsey Campbell. Dude is amazing,
I'll probably read all of his short story collections if he keeps up the quality.

Haven't seen one in a while, let's get some OC poetry! Just wrote this right now,

Three kings and a jack, traveling down the road.

The road is it, it calls them all, with only time as their foe.
The curtain like clouds, blind them all.
Nothing's certain, nothing's forever

On they must go, on the they must go.

I close my eyes
Only for a moment and the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes; a curiosity

Same old song

Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see

Don't hang on
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy

Dust in the wind

All they are is dust in the wind

I'm making a redpill reading list, as a joke. It's basically laughably ridiculous pieces that would
dupe the pseudo-intellectuals infesting the chans. A mix of fedora, right wing rants,
totalitarianism, religious and new age charlatans, and so on. I'm asking for contributions and
suggestions.

>haha I'm just being ironic guys. it's a joke

yeah, that doesn't really matter though. you immerse yourself with any rhetoric for long enough and you'll eventually
start believing the bullshit.
it always starts with hating the jews/fags/femoids 'ironically'. but the more time you spend consuming articles, books,
youtube videos without actively engaging in criticism of the content, the higher the likelihood that you'll be 'sucked in'.
memes become part of your sense of humor and even your identity.
https://boards.420chan.org/lit/ 4/14
28/8/2019 /lit/ - Books & Literature | 420chan
when you're halfway through a book that's about how women used to be obedient and how their sexual freedom has led
to collapse of society, your brain isn't thinking "why am I still reading this trash?".
because we hate feeling like we're wasting time, you're more likely to be thinking "this guy must have a point, otherwise
why am spending my time reading this?"

imagine doing an experiment. you take a left-leaning college-aged dude who only recently started thinking about politics
(like you could find on this very board). you feed him nothing but Jordan Peterson, Molyneux and Sam Harris videos for
a week. at first he'll think these guys are crazy, but eventually one of them will make a point that seems to make sense
to our experiment subject. the more redpill videos he watches, the more youtube will start recommending redpill videos
by other guys. his mind starts to become overwhelmed with conflicting feelings about viewpoints the subject used to
ignore or dismiss. the subject feels 'lied to' by society and will start seeking out more radical viewpoints in search for 'the
truth'. it doesn't take long before the subject is reading books about zionist reptilians responsible for 9/11 triggering the
upcoming Apocalypse.

I know this because this is basically what happened to me for a time. it started with just browsing the future for memes. I
started posting anti-semetic memes 'ironically' because it was controversial and I felt a rush spouting racist bullshit.
months and months of trolling the future later, and I was no longer doing it ironically. eventually I became a jew-hating,
jolly african-american-hating, fag-hating, women-hating neckbeard 9/11 truther reading books about the illuminati and
reptilian presidents.
for a while I was completely unreachable by reason or logic. it wasn't until I accidentally stumbled upon effective, fact-
based, science-supported criticisms and teardowns of the books and movies I consumed that I started to regain my
senses.

I don't believe in censorship, because if you need to refute false, dangerous claims and ideas you need access to the
original work in order to give context and remain objective.
but I don't encourage consuming redpill/alt-right content blindly and uncritically, especially not as a "joke" because it's
not funny. the ideas expressed are not funny, because they're still believed and kept alive by way too many people.
it's never been easier to get trapped in an echo-chamber, because on the internet any idea, no matter how wild can
become viral.

Read some classic gays to set the world. Frederick the Great - Anti-Machiavel, Martin
Luther - On the Jews and Their Lies, Gottfried Feder - Manifesto for the Abolition of
Enslavement to Interest, and Albert Speer - Inside the Third Reich. Also, Immanuel Kant -
On the Feeling of the Beautiful and Sublime and Other Writings.
At some point, compare and conclude with Fredrich Nietzsche - Will to Power. That is a
thorough-minded redpill set.

Imagine you just came off the beach and you're wondering why the fuck is everyone
adjusting to you. That is pure leftism, ego-centric bullshit. So, you drop that L. Whatever it is, you say OK to this

stuck on all the minds: what for? Meanwhile, some slut is grinding on you through the immediate sensation of pleasure

Hey /lit/ finding myself with a lot more time on my hands these days. I kind of feel like writing
again but I want to give poetry a shot this time. Used to write a lot of short stories but I haven't
in many years what little I did with poetry was way back in highschool and I remember nothing.

Anyone have some good book suggestions that cover the structure/form of different kinds of
poetry, something I desperately need a refresher in. And just recommendations on some
poetry collections in general that would be worth reading. Thanks guys.

See if you can get your hands on this one.

The best thing you can do is talk to a poet, a real poet. Let this person show you the ropes. In the beginning, yes, we
can make a science out of it, there are the technical aspects, there are the tricks, and your mastery of the language is a
very important thing. But poetry is also a work of the heart. In the end you just gotta light up dat blunt and let the lines
flow, knomuhsayin?

And when I went to Church

You always find your heart

Your kindness just tore me apart

But whenever I think of you
It makes me wonder

The Other Side by Alfred Kubin

I love it, it's an example of early surrealism, and is the only written work of Kubin, who was actually a famous visual artist
in his time.

Of course, that's really more beautiful than scary. If you want something disturbing and psychedelic, The Wild Boys by
William S. Burroughs is the most disturbing book I've ever read. For something also extremely disturbing, but completely
realistic, there's Last Exit to Brooklyn by Hubert Selby, Jr.

-The Foundation Pit

Maybe the darkest novel ever written.
-Anything by William Gaddis (esp. J R) and most things by Thomas Pynchon
hard to go wrong.
The Book of Disquiet
Mostly just the well-written journal of a sad loner
-The Third Policeman
IMO this one is very funny, but at least one person I lent it to didn't get it at all; YMMV. If you like this bizarre distinctly
Irish lit and are up to a challenge, consider Beckett's Trilogoy.
-Petersburg
one of Nabokov's three "best books of the 20th century"; s'pretty good. From my sub-fluent awareness of Russian, this
was probably better in the original, But it's still pretty great. You may be more drawn to his childhood/coming-of-age
novel, Kotiv Letaev ("Flying Kitten"), which revolves around a curious little boy and can get a tad experimental with all
the vivid imagination and how strongly it defines descriptions of events.
-Today I Wrote Nothing
Daniil Kharms compilation (the translation at least; can't say what it is in Russian). Not incredibly heavy as the others on
my recs list, but it's fun and slots well enough into your preferences.
-White Noise
Can't speak for DeLillo's other stuff as I've not read it. WN is a solid novel that epitomizes American postmodernism
without requiring 5-10 minutes to read a page like some others might.
-Borges's short stories, on the chance you haven't read them yet

Looking for the names of any texts that can be considered a bible for native american
religions, animism, shamanism, early wicca, fae, and pantheism

Im a theology buff and it seems that there are no central books for any of these practices
outside of bullshit from the new age section written by a bald man who likes cats

In the Koran, Christians and Jewish people are called "the people of the book", and you are
forbidden to mess with them or try to convert them because they are already worshipping
God... it's kind of a defining feature of those 3 religions that they are dogmatic and set their
stuff in stone, where as proper religions are flexible and when you destroy them they
reimmerge again because they are inextricably linked to the culture where they originate
from, can't exist outside that culture, and will never die as long as that culture exists. The
bible, the torah, and the Koran need to be written down because they are spread to all
different cultures and have no connection to reality

That's an interesting perspective. What then would you classify as a culturally bound religion? Like Shinto or

Dissolve your ego into the illusion and identify with no other thing but this task for that is the true purpose which you
desire so you might as well strive for that state where no external thing can knock you off your course to enlightenment
via constant reminders that the only thing thats real is you and thats all you need throughout all time and space.

Diet & exercise is the "have you tried turning it on and off again" of depression stuff cause if you´re not treating your
body right it´s not weird that you´re depressed. Also even if you´re still depressed it´ll still be easier to fix things if you´ve
started on that end already.

How is your writing going /lit/? Anyone here working on something or have any work they want
to share? Not poetry, we have the OC Poems thread for that.

I am 2 acts done with a 3 act novel. I have written short stories before, and this is my first long
endeavor. I had always lacked confidence, but one day, I suddenly stumbled upon the perfect
horror novel just sitting in my mind. Like, it is literally the greatest horror story if this generation.
It will go down as The Wire of horror stories for it's brutal look at reality at the bottom of the
barrel. But it will also be like Trailer Park Boys and have a cast of lovable losers, who are down
and out, living where every day feels like the end of the world, and having that corner of the ghetto become the backdrop
for what will be the end of the world for real, with the local stoners and crackheads the last line of defense before an ancient
evil reclaims the planet it once ruled a millennia ago. It is not a horror comedy like John Dies At The End, it is straight horror
with some comedic moments the way an action movie can have good comedy. I know it will be an insta-classic and
probably get a film adaption. As a long time 420channer, I will find some way to get it to you all for free after I find a
publisher, since I know this site thrives on piracy, even if I have to pay them for digital downloads for all 3-5 regulars here.
Drugs and the apocalypse, it should be right up most of /lit/s alley.

I've had this idea for a story in my head for about... 15 years now.
It's only now that the potential story has kind of crystalized enough for me to want to start writing it out, but I can't decide
between writing in English or in my native language (dutch).

I've always read books, fiction and non-fiction, in English. All movies and video games I've consumed past the age of 12

https://boards.420chan.org/lit/ 12/14
28/8/2019 /lit/ - Books & Literature | 420chan
I've done so in English. I feel more confident that I can express myself poetically and creatively in English.
I also feel my audience would be wider if I wrote my story in English, as the majority of my friends would not be
interested in reading my amateurish writing.

On the other hand, I'm proud of my native language. I've always had issues with expressing myself and my ideas in my
native language, but I somewhat believe this writing exercise could change that.
I wrote a short intro/prologue/exposition for the story in dutch, and reading what I wrote is kind of making me cringe. I
don't like reading creative works in my native language so maybe I should switch to English, or maybe I should suck it
up and open my mind.

What do?

Recommended books that are free-thinking, an interesting perspective (filling in the circle
vantage point), or purelyy amusing, or feel good books, or solid knowledge and science or
practical skill books, would you recommend?

I know /lit/ has a diverse knowledge base.

Darwin's Origin of Species

https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/1228

It surprised me how much modern basic biology (just the shit you learn in high school ie. all organisms are derived from
a single ancestors, survival of the fittest, and Kingdom, Phylum, Class, etc.) is stuff that Darwin was advocating for
based on his ideals about adaptation and survival of the fittest. How he identifies and debates the arguments against his
ideas and how many of these arguments are the same we have today as they were almost 200 years ago when he
penned it. I linked the 1st edition because that is what I read. Some people like the 6th and call it "The Definitive
Edition".
