Provide a list of 3-5 agreements that you will have in your classroom, including an explanation of how

these will be determined and/or selected.

Agreements:

1: Respect yourself and each other

I will have my students state some values that are important to them and then dive deeper on the value
of respect, I will have them pair up in small groups and discuss What does respect look, feel, or sound
like? What does disrespect look, feel, or sound like? How is respect defined by different cultures or age
groups? What about your own culture or age group? This has the students come up with ideas on their
own to create imagery of respect in action: using kind words, giving everyone’s opinions space,
prioritizing impact over intention, not interrupting, and not embarrassing people if they make mistakes.

2: Have integrity

I will explain that I’m not the only teacher in the room. Each student has something they can teach. So
much of the community-building process is not about “allowing” students to do anything or even about
“giving them a voice.” It’s entirely about moving over, passing the mic, and holding space while they use
the voice, they entered the room with on the first day.

3: asses values

The first step when we create a community agreement is a values assessment. I will ask the students to
choose, from a list, the five most important things in their life—these are values like loyalty, friendship,
respect, and knowledge, as well as family. They then rank these from one (most important) to five (least
important)

Describe how these agreements will be implemented and communicated to students, colleagues, and
parents.

after my classroom creates our agreements together as a whole we will communicate these agreements
to our colleagues and parents by displaying them in our classroom for parents and students and
colleagues to see throughout the classroom day and also sending home a interactive newsletter for the
students to have signed by their parents saying they see all of the agreements that we have
implemented in our classroom.
Provide a description of how you will manage these classroom procedures and routines:

transition within the classroom (ex. from desk to carpet)

transition from the classroom to other parts of the school

line-ups, bathroom breaks, lunch

distribution and collection of materials, student work, etc.

agreements/rules and expectations

important)

transition within the classroom (ex. from desk to carpet)

I will implement different tips that I have gained from my internship such as Give notice before it time to
make a change. ...Teach them to freeze, or at least, stop talking. ...Give an honest amount of time to put
things away. ...Avoid too much empty transition time. ...Crowd control. ...Notice without naming.
...Make it fun.

the transition from the classroom to other parts of the school:

some strategies I will use for transitioning from the classroom to other parts of the school is to model
what should be displayed as good behavior in the hallway, I will explain to my students how our
behavior impacts our entire class and how we present ourselves. I want the students to understand the
reasoning of why we need to display good behavior in the classroom and understand that we don't want
to disturb other classes by walking room parts of the school.

line-ups, bathroom breaks, lunch

I will use strategies for lineup with a good system in place where all the students know what they are
asked to do and how they're supposed to do it. I will ask each of the students to raise their hand if they
need to use the restroom. songs and verbal cues to have my students line up and get me the position to
be ready for the hall.

distribution and collection of materials, student work, etc.

I will organize my collection of materials by having mailboxes for each of the students to put their
completed work in I will distribute my class work by having a student or two from the class have a job of
passing out papers and assisting me.

agreements/rules and expectations

in the beginning of the school semester, I will have my students in classroom come up with some
agreements we all agree on to be displayed in the classroom and agreements we have on rules and
expectations that we have for ourselves and each other. I I like to call them agreements instead of rules
because I want my classroom to feel like the rules are something that we came up with together and not
something I just dictate them.

Provide an explanation of how these procedures contribute to a productive learning environment that
maximizes student learning

all of these agreements and procedures contribute to a productive learning environment that maximizes
student learning because you are creating a organized and open classroom environment that the
students feel freely to speak for themselves and create their own opinions and ideas. it also is helpful to
be organized with your expectations for your behavior that the students will hold in the classroom
because it will create a well flowing transition throughout your day to day
