1. What is a state?

A state is a polity under a system of governance

with a monopoly on force

2. Is a state different from a nation?

Yes, because a state is a territory with its own

institutions and people.It must also have the authority

and capacity to enter into treaties and other

agreements with other countries. while nation is a

large collection of people who live on a certain piece

of land and are linked by history, culture, or some

other shared characteristic.

3. How does globalization affect nation-states?

Globalization has altered the function of the state in

numerous ways: politically, through state

interdependence and independence, socially,

through terrorism and deadly diseases,

technologically, through media and the internet, and

economically, through the transition from national to

global economies.
