4 GENERAL NOTES
Light alloy parts can be not protected (it depends if the aluminum alloys has corrosion resistance
properties). Otherwise protection should be required, specify it on the drawing (following the indica
tions of Table V).
Implement the operations described in Table II to improve anticorrosion protection on cut edges.

[14] Parts in class A2, after approval according to Table II shall be submitted to the finishing cycle and then be checked as per specifications prescribed for parts
in class A or A1.
[15] Use a mixture composed of 30 % toluene and 70 % isoctane.
[16] Slight colour change admitted. Adhesion = Ad 2.
[17] For all the drawings released before February 2015 is allowed the test length of 150 hours.
[18] If this type of corrosion is to be avoided, specify it on drawing.
[19] For all the drawings released before February 2015 is allowed the test length of 300 hours.
[20] For all the drawings released before February 2015 is allowed the test length of 96 hours.

[21] For iron castings the test shall be carried out after the application of the finishing coat (liquid enamel or powder coating).
[22] Slight colour change admitted.
[23] Test to be performed only if specified on drawing. After having carried out the requirements of IVECO STD. 15-6023 and rating the chipping degree, the
specimens must be exposed for 48 h to saline fog according to IVECO STD. 16-0135-E1, in order to point out the stone blows that have reached the sheet.
[24] Test to be performed only if specified on drawing and in the specified area.
[25] Plunge for 24 h the part into a 3 % solution of water and used emulsifiable oil, at the temperature of 40 °C. Take the part away and examine its surface
immediately and after 24 h.

[26] Plunge for 15 min the part into a 10 % solution of sodium carbonate at the temperature of 80 °C.
[27] For all the drawings released before February 2015 is allowed to not perform the test.

[28] Rub for 30 s the painted component surface with a flock of cotton soaked with artificial sweat (5 g/l NaCl + 5 g/l Na2HPO4 x 12 H2O), at pH 9,5 (pH
adjustment done with NaOH).
NOTE 1: For parts and groups composing the chassis (Classes B, B1, C), the final colour must correspond to I.C. 444 (RAL 7021) with 70 - 80 Gloss,
unless otherwise specified.
NOTE 2: C and D level parts required by IVECO with intermediate anticorrosion primer or cataphoresis protections, i.e. without top coat, shall comply with
properties identified with (▲), according to the corresponding Class.
