‘’MGA BUTO NI BONIFACIO’’

On May 10, 1897, Andres Bonifacio and his brother

Procopio were killed on bundok buntis in the town of
Maragondon Cavite. Emilio Aguinaldo admitted that he
was the one who ordered the execution of Andres
Bonifacio. Lazaro Makapagal (leader of the Katipuneros)
was assigned by Aguinaldo to kill Andres Bonifacio.
Manuel Quezon and Emilio Aguinaldo had a presidential
battle, Manuel Quezon dig up Andres Bonifacio's bones to
raise the dark issue of the past to be against Aguinaldo,
Guillermo Masangkay (Katipunero) was assigned to dig
Andres' bones. But the bone taken was contrary to the
testimonies of Lazaro Makapagal, because that was not
the place where they shot Andres Bonifacio and buried
him. The University of the Philippines also conducted an
examination, but the bones were not the size of Andres
Bonifacio's age. While Espiridiona Bonifacio and Guillermo
Masangkay proved that Andres Bonifacio had the bones
excavated.
Until now, there is still no clear answer as to where Andres
Bonifacio's bones are. All we can do is preserve and
respect the monuments of Andres Bonifacio and let us
bring to life the story of his heroism.
