NOTE – THIS IS NOT THE FINAL DRAFT

‘The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of on man are threatened’

- John F. Kennedy

Three years ago, I chose to opt for law out of sheer enthusiasm of exploring it. The Fact that many of
my role models were lawyers didn’t hurt. I’ve always been fascinated by the role NHRC plays in
facilitating smooth functioning of democracy and ensuring that Human Rights are upheld.

There are several goals that I hope to achieve upon successfully completing this Internship. After
completing three years of my legal education supplemented by my previous internships with various
Commissions and experience between the two, I have developed a refined set of personal, academic
and professional goals. However, I feel that achieving these goals will be more effectively facilitated
using the tools acquired through learning and understanding the Inner workings of The most
impactful Human Rights Body in the country. Essentially, I know what I want to do but am unable to
take on the desired roles with my current qualifications. An internship with NHRC will rectify this by
providing me with invaluable tools, knowledge and experience integral to the achievement of my
professional aims.

I also believe with the skills and expertise I have obtained from interning with National Commission
for Protection of Child Rights and National Consumers Disputes Resolution Commission I will prove
to be valuable asset to the commission.
