FADE IN:

INT. JAKE'S ROOM .DAWN

Lights flash from the screen of a silver CRT TV into a dark

room revealing bare white walls and a figure laying in a bed.
The TV has Channel Five News on mute. The high pitched whine
of the CRT can be heard faintly under the pulse an
oscillating stand fan.

Then suddenly the whine becomes louder and louder. The figure
bursts awake siting up in a panic, revealing JAKE, a tall
white man with a clean face. He's got no shirt and his bottom
half is covered by a blanket. Jake's forehead is dripping in
sweat.

JAKE
Waaater. I need water!

Jake puts his hand on his chest and turns his head back
towards a night stand. On it are a TV remote and a glass of
water. Jake reaches over and snatches the glass of water,
pounding down every drop.

JAKE (CONT'D)
Aaaaaaah, that's better!

Jake brushes away the water on his top lip with his hand.
Then his gaze is brought over to the TV. Jake reaches for the
TV remote .He points the remote to the TV and unmutes it. On
the TV there is a news reporter. She is in her mid 30s and is
dressed in a blue business casual dress.

REPORTER
With testing more available then ever
and no plateau to the number of cases
of Coronavirus, we can only wonder
when we will this will be over.

Jake brings his hands to cover his eyes and takes a deep
breath. Jake gets out of his bed.

INT. JAKE'S BATHROOM. DAY

An average looking modern bathroom. Jake can be seen brushing

his teeth and looking at himself in the mirror then spits
into the sink.

INT. LIVING ROOM. DAY

Jake is sitting at a table. He is wearing casual day clothes

and his hair is wet and slicked back. In front of him is

plate of food. Eggs, grits, and gravy on top of toast. The
room is an average-sized apartment living area with no décor.
From the hall out of on of the room comes out DAN, tan skin
dark hair mid 20's. He approaches Jake.

DAN
Morning.

Dan turns around and glances at a clock on the wall. The

clock reads "8:16AM"

DAN (CONT'D)
When did you wake up?

Dan lifts up his hand to wipe the sleep out of his eyes and
turns back to look at Jake. Jake is picking at his food with
a fork, looking disinterested.

JAKE
When do you think the pandemic will
end? I feel so trapped in this
apartment.

Dan looks at Jake with a smile.

DAN
Well, do I have good news for you. The
governor announced that the lockdown
ended last night. We are free men.

Jake looks at Dan with a confused look and tilts his head

JAKE
But cases are at an all time high!

DAN
I don't know my man, this whole
Coronavirus thing sounds fishy to me
anyways. I think it's a hoax. Like the
moon landing.

Jake's eyes narrow.

JAKE
Are you sure the moon landing was a
hoax? I don't think you can fake that

DAN
You know what you can fake though? Bio-
engineered super viruses designed to
lock us in our homes to ruin the
economy. It's what the communists
want.

Jake slams his arms on the table in blind rage. Jake's

breakfast is thrown in the air. He sits in silence for a
brief second. Dan seems accustomed to this.

JAKE
Those damn communists!

Dan climbs onto the table and points at Jake.

DAN
Exactly! Now are you gonna let those
good for nothing Reds dictate your
life?

Dan's voice gets progressively louder and louder as his blood

pressure and testosterone rise. Jake looks taken aback, yet
slightly engrossed in Dan's rant.

DAN (CONT'D)
Or are you gonna go out tonight with
me and get wasted like a good,
Godfearing, Reagan-loving American?

Dan's arms are covered in grits. Jake's excitement is on the

same level as Dan's at this point.

JAKE
I LOVE REAGAN. YOU FUCKING KNOW ILOVE
REAGAN, DAN. YOU KNOW.

Dan looks calmer. He places his hand on Jake's shoulder. Jake

looks solemnly at the floor. He looks personally affected by
his love for the former President.

DAN
I know you love Reagan, Jake. He loves
you too.

He would want this for us. Jake looks up hopefully at Dan.

His expression changes to one of intense determination. Jake
puts his arm around his friend and brings him in for a bro-
hug.

JAKE
Let's do this Dan! Let's go out to the
bar in the middle of this...

Jake moves his fingers in an air quotes motion. He furrows

his brow as he does this.

JAKE (CONT'D)
global pandemic!

EXT. GRAVEYARD. DAY

Two tombstones in frame. Sobbing is heard in the background.

Someone coughs. One tombstone reads "Jake Daniels. 1993 -
2020. 'Feared Reagan. Loved God. USA." The second tombstone
reads "Daniel Marquez. 1992 - 2020.'Liked to party hard.'"
